Joventino, Carlos Fernando. January 2015 (has links)
Os resultados mostram que um par de elementos ativos em conjunto com o controlador integral foram suficientes para resolver o problema de vibrações em estruturas flexíveis do tipo treliça, aumentando de forma considerável o seu amortecimento e, consequentemente, atenuando as vibrações da estrutura / Abstract: Flexible structures, for instance, trusses, are present in many industrial applications and have a great importance in the daily lives of people, either in a single telecommunications antenna, or either in more sophisticated and accurate devices, such as satellites orbiting in space. This work presents the design and the construction of a smart flexible structure. The control design of this structure was obtained through the implementation of an integral force controller. The controller design problem is solved by the root locus method, using a model identified experimentally by the system identification ERA / OKID method. The problem of optimal sensors and actuators placement was solved using (Fraction Modal Deformation Energy technique, (FEDM)). The mathematical model used to calculate the placement of sensors and actuators was done by the finite element method. Analytical and experimental results for the problem of placement of sensors and actuators and the problem of active control are presented. The results showed that a pair of active elements in conjunction with the integral controller can be used to solve the problem of vibrations in flexible structures of truss type, considerably increasing their damping and hence attenuating the vibrations in the structure / Mestre

January 2018 (has links)
(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Despite its massive scope, the market share for analogue TV in Brazil has been decreasing; cable TV and streaming are taking over. Although TV sets are presently referred to as "intelligent devices" (Smart TV), in fact they blend TV programming and internet, thus needing connection with broadband network and social network applications in order to offer interactivity for analogue TV programming. The need for additional equipment (such as a smartphone or a tablet computer) induces viewers not to watch television; for they get distracted by the diversity of options such devices present (email, news websites, etc.). TV set manufacturers are currently improving the quality of its image and sound, making one feel they are within the show; however there is one step missing in this perception: the intercommunication between the two sides of the screen. This study proposes solutions to the viewer, retrieving that feeling of simplicity inherent to watching TV but with the existing interaction offered in some programs by means of the remote control. Therefore, this technical and scientific study introduces a new method of TV interactivity, employing the return channel interactivity to the Brazilian Digital Television System with the SIM card (intelligent card for GSMtechnology cell phones) and the telecommunication signals used in Brazil. This feature may promote a problem-solving alternative concerning the return channel interactivity, without the internet and its social media, howeve...

O controle DSDRE (Discrete State De... (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Light-weight robotic manipulators have advantages over the cost of production and efficiency in relation to payload and weight of the robot. However, the use of light-weight materials tends to increase structural flexibility in torque transmission and in the links of the robot. The manipulator proposals presented in this work have conflicting requirements since it is desired to reduce the weight of the mechanisms and increase the performance, it makes some engineering challenges. Thus, this thesis deals with mechanical modeling, dynamic analysis and hybrid control, using intelligent actuators, for robotic manipulators with flexible characteristics. Two models of robotic manipulators with flexible characteristics will be considered in this work: one for payload connected to a cable and another one for rotary tool, both with non-ideal interaction of the manipulated element. It is possible to verify chaotic behavior by adding the load to the manipulators, becoming a great challenger to the proposal control. DC motors and actuators classified as intelligent materials such as the shape memory alloy (SMA), acting on the flexible links, and Magneto-Rheological Brake (MR-Brake), acting on the flexible joints, are used in the strategy control. The neural network RBF was used to estimate the control variables of the SMA and MR-Brake actuators. The DSDRE (Discrete State Dependent Ricatti Equation) control is used as the control law. The numerical results show that the addition of hybrid... (Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Doutor

One of the most recent techniques is based on the use of continuous sensors, made of thin films of nanocomposites. The advantage of using such materials is the possibility to apply them on complex surfaces, covering larger areas and using few acquisition terminals. Moreover, by using the nanocomposites, it is possible to control its mechanical and electrical properties, making it possible to create a customized sensor for each case. The nanocomposite found most commonly in the literature for damage detection are the carbon nanotubes (CNT) composites, while the matrix depends on each case. This work proposes the use of alternative materials such as the ITO (Indium tin oxide) nanowires inserted at PMMA (Poly(methyl methacrylate)) to be used as coatings for the monitored structure. In order to verify the effectiveness of this sensor, several tests were proposed. These tests consists on monitoring the nanocomposite's behavior when affected by some kind of damage, in which can be simulated by a mass addition, excess of load or a crack. The principle for the damage detection is to measure the electrical resistance between two points at the film sensor and verify the variations caused by the damage to these measurements. In general, the obtained resistances varied from 1kΩ to 10kΩ, while with the damage appearance the measurements varied more than 30% at the path with the damage and at the paths nearby. Tests at the environmental chamber, with temperature and humidity control, showed that the sensor is sensitive to high temperatures and humidity levels. Regarding the sensibility to stress applied to the plate, the sensor showed changes at the resistances only when the plate started to deform plastically. The obtained results are promising and indicate that this method is effective for damage detection

This work presents the analytic development of the modeling of flexible truss structures with the aim to suppress the mechanical vibration using active control techniques. Piezoelectric stack actuators are used to produce control force in the structure, which can replace an entire bar or can be coupled to structural members. They also satisfy the necessity to obtain lighter structures. The optimal placement of actuators and sensors is found through the Hã norm as objective function. As control technique is presented the Independent Modal Space Control (IMSC), in which a modal estimator is used and the Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) feedback the estimated states according the optimal control theory. IMSC is computationally efficient also applied in high order system and reduces the negative effects of the control and observer spillover. An improvement in the IMSC is the Efficient Modal Control (EMC) that is proposed to reduce the amplitudes of control forces. The mathematical model of the intelligent structure is obtained from Finite Elements Method (FEM) considering the electromechanical coupling between the piezoelectric stack actuators and the base structure. The design of a space truss structure, the optimal placement of active members and the active damping vibration control is numerically implemented. Two control techniques are tested and compared: IMSC and EMC. Results show that the controllers increase the damping of the structure noticeably. The EMC controller provides better performance, reducing the amplitudes of control forces.
