Etude de systèmes de positionnement en intérieur utilisant des mesures de phase du code ou de phase de la porteuse de signaux de navigation par satellites / Study of indoor positioning systems using code phase measurments or carrier phase measurments of navigation satellites signals

La thèse propose l’étude de systèmes de constellations locales permettant le positionnement dans des milieux difficiles. Dans ce contexte, il apparaît que les trajets indirects perturbent la mesure du temps de propagation entre l’antenne de l’émetteur et l’antenne du récepteur. L’éblouissement entre les signaux, phénomène d’interférence du CDMA, est exacerbé à cause des distances courtes et des variations de puissance de réception. La thèse apporte des réponses à ces deux problématiques. Pour les trajets indirects nous proposons d’utiliser les mesures de phase de la porteuse qui y sont moins sensibles. Il faut alors solutionner le problème de l’ambiguïté entière sur ces mesures. Une méthode le permet sans avoir recours à une technique différentielle en utilisant une boucle de poursuite insensible aux trajets indirects : la SMICL. Pour l’éblouissement, nous avons développé trois approches. L’une d’elle utilise les séquences de longueurs maximales et permet de réduire notablement son importance. Une deuxième méthode, baptisé Technique de la Double Emission (TDE), permet de supprimer intégralement ces interférences pour une paire d’émetteurs lorsque leurs Doppler respectifs sont égaux. Nous avons étudié le cas où les Doppler sont différents et mis au point une version améliorée de la TDE, la TDE étendue à la porteuse, qui permet de supprimer les influences du Doppler. Nous avons également montré que cette dernière peut s’appliquer à un émetteur fixe en présence d’une constellation de satellites. Une troisième méthode, appelée TDE maximale, utilise à nouveau une séquence de longueur maximale pour étendre la méthode TDE au cas de plusieurs émetteurs en présence. / The thesis proposes the study of systems of local constellations for positioning indoors.In this context, it appears that indirect paths disturb the measurement of time delay between the transmitter antenna and receiver antenna. The Near-Far problem between signals, a CDMA interference phenomenon, is exacerbated because of the short distances and variations in received power. The thesis provides answers to these two issues.For indirect multipath we propose to use carrier phase measurements. It must then solve the problem of ambiguity on these measurements. A method without carrying out a differential technique is proposed: a tracking loop insensitive to indirect routes: the SMICL. For the Near-Far problem, we have developed three approaches. One approach uses sequences of maximum length and significantly reduces its influence. A second method, called the Double Transmission Technique (DTT), can completely remove the interference for a pair of transmitters when their respective Doppler are equal. We have studied the case where different Doppler and developed an improved version of the DTT, the DTT extended to the carrier, which eliminates the influence of the Doppler. We also showed that this may also be applied to a fixed transmitter in the presence of a constellation of satellites. A third method, called DTT maximum, again uses a maximum length sequence to extend the method to the case DTT in the presence of several transmitters.

Cepstral Deconvolution Method For Measurement Of Absorption And Scattering Coefficients Of Materials

Several methods are developed to measure absorption and scattering coefficients of materials. In this study, a new method based on cepstral deconvolution technique is proposed. A reverberation room method standardized recently by ISO (ISO 17497-1) is taken as the reference for measurements. Several measurements were conducted in a physically scaled reverberation room and results are evaluated according to these two methods, namely, the method given in the standard and cepstral deconvolution method. Two methods differ from each other in the estimation of specular parts of room impulse responses essential for determination of scattering coefficients. In the standard method, specular part is found by synchronous averaging of impulse responses. However, cepstral deconvolution method utilizes cepstral analysis to obtain the specular part instead of averaging. Results obtained by both of these two approaches are compared for five different test materials. Both of the methods gave almost same values for absorption coefficients. On the other hand, lower scattering coefficient values have been obtained for cepstral deconvolution with respect to the ISO method.

Error control with binary cyclic codes

Error-control codes provide a mechanism to increase the reliability of digital data being processed, transmitted, or stored under noisy conditions. Cyclic codes constitute an important class of error-control code, offering powerful error detection and correction capabilities. They can easily be generated and verified in hardware, which makes them particularly well suited to the practical use as error detecting codes.A cyclic code is based on a generator polynomial which determines its properties including the specific error detection strength. The optimal choice of polynomial depends on many factors that may be influenced by the underlying application. It is therefore advantageous to employ programmable cyclic code hardware that allows a flexible choice of polynomial to be applied to different requirements. A novel method is presented in this thesis to realise programmable cyclic code circuits that are fast, energy-efficient and minimise implementation resources.It can be shown that the correction of a single-bit error on the basis of a cyclic code is equivalent to the solution of an instance of the discrete logarithm problem. A new approach is proposed for computing discrete logarithms; this leads to a generic deterministic algorithm for analysed group orders that equal Mersenne numbers with an exponent of a power of two. The algorithm exhibits a worst-case runtime in the order of the square root of the group order and constant space requirements.This thesis establishes new relationships for finite fields that are represented as the polynomial ring over the binary field modulo a primitive polynomial. With a subset of these properties, a novel approach is developed for the solution of the discrete logarithm in the multiplicative groups of these fields. This leads to a deterministic algorithm for small group orders that has linear space and linearithmic time requirements in the degree of defining polynomial, enabling an efficient correction of single-bit errors based on the corresponding cyclic codes.

This work focuses on the issue of acoustic diffusers. The introductory chapter describes the necessary theory of the sound distribution through enclosed space. Acoustic fields are also described. A description of the different diffusion element types and theirs design methods follows. It focuses mainly on design, which uses pseudo-random mathematical sequences. The aim of the work is to produce several types of acoustic diffusors and to verify their diffusion properties by means of measurements. The work uses the AFMG Reflex to simulate the diffusion properties of the proposed elements. Further, the thesis contains a description of the diffusion properties measurement process by the boundary plane method and the process of evaluating the measured data using the Matlab program.

Testování prostorové akustiky / Testing of room acoustics

This paper presents parameters of evaluation of acoustic quality of the space. It is divided into parts presenting physical principle of the origin and movement of the acoustic signal, principles of its processing with current technology and properties of the acoustic field. This is followed by an analysis of the musical part and notes on psychoacoustics. The document contains a description of relevant parameters of acoustic spaces and way in which we can reach desired results, including material analysis. The paper mainly focuses on description of relevant parameters of three acoustic spaces which were measured. The last part of the work is a program for elementary acoustical measurement, which can be provided by means of commonly accessible equipment such as a notebook or a personal computer.

Měření akustických vlastností stavebních materiálů pomocí pseudonáhodné sekvence / Measurement of Acoustic Parameters of Building Materials by Pseudorandom Sequence

The thesis deals with research of pulse compression of the acoustic signal in terms of applications in civil engineering. Based on the study and analysis of these methods, automated measuring equipment for non-destructive testing with pseudorandom sequence of maximum length and automated signal analysis, have been designed and implemented. In a single test cycle are obtained three parameters that characterize the linear and nonlinear behavior of the sample. A nonlinear parameter, Time of Flight of ultrasonic wave in the sample is further in the work compared with the conventional pulse measuring, and spectral analysis is compared with the method impact-echo. Functionality and optimization of the testing method was performed on a total of three sets of test pieces made of various building materials. The experiments proved simple result interpretation, and high sensitivity to structural damage associated with temperature loading. The results were correlated with conventional nondestructive methods and by destructive testing was measured change in compressive strength and flexural strength. This work also includes continual measurement of fundamental frequency influenced by moisture on a mortar sample. Use of pulse compression signal is in the civil engineering quite unusual. Only in recent years this topic is discussed in scientific articles with increasing frequency. Great potential lies in the association of three test methods into a single. Beneficial is high test speed and measurement reproducibility, but also theoretical possibility of testing massive test elements.
