Aplicação de microesferas de quitosana em um sistema de pré-concentração para a determinação de metais em combustíveis fósseis e biocombustíveis

Estes biocombustíveis foram caracterizados segundo as normas estabelecidas pela ANP, utilizando as devidas metodologias ASTM. Álcool combustível hidratado, gasolina comum e diesel comum foram adquiridos em posto de abastecimento. A quitosana adquirida em pó da Polymar Ciência e Nutrição S/A teve seu grau médio de desacetilação determinado por três diferentes técnicas (condutimetria, FTIR e RMN), sendo o valor médio igual a 78,95%. A partir da quitosana em pó, foram preparadas microesferas de quitosana, sintetizadas pela metodologia de coagulação, as quais depois foram reticuladas com glutaraldeído. A área superficial das microesferas foi determinada pela técnica de BET, sendo as áreas das microesferas reticuladas igual a 9,2 m² g-1 . As isotermas de adsorção de cobre, níquel e zinco nas microesferas de quitosana foram determinadas nos derivados de petróleo (gasolina e diesel), bem como nos biocombustíveis (álcool, biodiesel e bio-óleo), sendo mantida a seguinte ordem de adsorção em todos os combustíveis: Cu > Ni > Zn. Os testes de eluições demonstraram fatores de pré-concentração >4,5 para álcool, >4,4 para gasolina, >4,0 para diesel, >3,8 para biodiesel e >3,6 para bio-óleo. A aplicação da préconcentração de metais utilizando microesferas de quitosana possibilitou alcançar limites de detecções em um espectrômetro de absorção atômica por chama semelhantes aos encontrados em ICP AES. _________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / Biodiesel and diesel-like have been obtained from soybean oil by transesterification and thermal cracking process, respectively. These biofuels were characterized as according to ANP standards by using specific ASTM’s methods. Ethanol, gasoline, diesel had been purchased from gas station. Desacetilation degree of the chitosan was determined by three distinct methods (condutimetry, FTIR and NMR), and the average degree is 78,95%. The microspheres of chitosan was prepared from chitosan by split-coating and and this spheres was crosslinked by using glutaraldehyde. The surface area of microspheres was determined by BET method, and the surface area of crosslinked microspheres was 9,2 m² g-1. The adsorption isotherms of cooper, nickel and zinc on microspheres of chitosan were determined in petroleum derivatives (gasoline and diesel oil), as well as in biofuels (alchool, biodiesel and diesel-like). The following adsorption order in all fuels: Cu > Ni > Zn. The eluition tests presents preconcentration degree >4,5 to ethanol, >4,4 to gasoline, >4,0 to diesel, >3,8 to biodiesel and >3,6 to diesel-like. The application of chitosan microspheres in the metal ions preconcentration showed the potential of this biopolymer to enrich fuel sample in order to be analyzed by flame atomic absorpion spectrometry.
