Para tanto, analisamos como os principais personagens vivenciam processos identificatórios entre eles e deles com a demonstrando também como tais processos estão articulados às experiências intersticiais que envolvem a relação entre o local/global, o particular/público. Desse modo, observamos que viver entre culturas, valores, linguagens diferentes ocasiona uma fragmentação identidade do sujeito. Por outro lado, identificamos que no romance a identidade fragmentada relaciona-se com a fragmentação na/da estruturação da obra: os personagens vivenciam experiências temporais diversas, uma vez que a história não segue uma ordem cronológica de tempo, por sua vez, com as mudanças de tempo ocorre em alguns momentos a mudança de narrador, isto é, o tempo é fragmentado assim como também narrador apresenta diferentes nuanças. Entendemos, então, que há em Essa Terra formalização estética do fator social, pois a fragmentação na/da estruturação da narrativa refrata, na verdade, as identidades fragmentadas dos personagens. A migração e efeitos sobre o sujeito ganham outra ordem representativa na obra, que pelo distanciamento estético não se confundem com um re-apresentar de um dado do mundo empírico. / The novel Essa Terra, by Antonio Torres, has served as a basis in order to attempt to comprehend how the formation of the subjectivity and identity of the contemporary individual and the fragmentation of/in the structure of the narrative text refract and reflect — using here Bakhtin’s terminology — the effects of Brazilian northeasterners’ migration process over one individual who lives between different cultures and realities. For this, it has been analyzed how the novel’s main characters experience identification processes among them as well as between themselves and the land. It has also been demonstrated how such processes are connected to the experiences which involve the relation between the local and the global, the private and the public. This way, it has been observed that living between different cultures, values and languages generates fragmentation of the individual’s identity. On the other hand, it has been identified in the novel that the fragmented identity is associated with the fragmentation of/in the text structure: since the plot does not follow a chronological order, the characters are involved in different temporal experiences. In the same way, along with setting changes, sometimes the narrator changes, that is, time is fragmented just as the narrator presents different nuances. Thus, it has been understood that in the novel Essa Terra, there is one aesthetical formalization of the social factor, for the fragmentation of/in the narrative structure refracts, in reality, the characters’ fragmented identities. Migration and its effects over the individual take another representative place in the book, which for the aesthetical distancing do not mistake with re-presenting some information of the empirical world.
