Orientador: Sérgio Gertel / Banca: Dagoberto José Fonseca / Banca: Maria Aparecida de Moraes Silva / Resumo: Como indivíduos que migram do rural ao urbano conseguem recriar a tradição da Folia de Reis num ambiente distinto de onde vieram; isso expressa, de modo geral, os objetivos desta pesquisa. O objetivo é atualizar as pesquisas migratórias que preencheram boa parte dos estudos de sociologia durante os anos 50-80, no sentido de observar a partir de um olhar contemporâneo como o migrante de 1º geração consegue se re-territorializar nas localidades para onde se dirigiram. Os conceitos de grupo cultural migrante, identidade, espaço e território são importantes instrumentos de análise. Eles são os instrumentos utilizados para compreender de que forma migrantes provenientes de distintas localidades conseguiram reelaborar as condições objetivas e subjetivas necessárias à continuidade da tradição festiva em comemoração aos Três Reis Magos, os "Santos Reis", num novo ambiente urbano. Para tanto, realçamos a dimensão ativa do sujeito que, os quais conseguiram re-elaborar suas respectivas identidades de Foliões e Devotos de Santos Reis. / Abstract: How does people that migrate succeed on reconstruct the "Folia de Reis" tradition in on different place of the countryside where they came from? This question express, anyway, the goals, of this research. The ideas of everyday, territory and representation are very important tools to analyse the purposes here shown. Through them we will try to understand how migrants, that were subjected to eradicate and to deprive their habits on seventies, were successful to create again all conditions needed to keep this tradition in celebration of Three Kings, the "Santos Reis", in one new world strongly point by division of spaces. We point the dimension out of person that even being subjected to social oppression, elaborate again his identity which were almost lost and achieve to change - even partially - his reality. Reach "Santos Reis" party by migrants is understood on this research as establish again in the midst of constraint, established in one shared urban space. / Mestre
