GRAVITAČNÍ MODELY A JEJICH VYUŽITÍ V GEOGRAFICKÉM VÝZKUMU NA PŘÍKLADU SÍDELNÍHO SYSTÉMU KRAJE VYSOČINA / Gravity models and their use in the geographic research on the example of the settlement system of the Vysočina county

BLAŽEK, Jan January 2012 (has links)
This thesis deals with gravitational models which are concerned with interactions between different objects. Thesis applies to these models to the settlement system of Vysočina county. This research discovers the positives and negatives of the models in terms of their application on the particular settlement system. The centres ORP of the Vysočina county are profited for this research. The first part of this thesis deals with interactions between these centres ORP, in light of the theoretical spatial relationships, the real direct bus connections and real commuting to work. In the second part the thesis focuses on the regionalization of the Vysočina county. The regionalization is defined on the theoretical calculations of the Reilly model, as a real gravitational model, a real commuting to work. The requisite data for the analyse were calculated on the basis of the formulas or were taken from the database of the Czech Statistical Office. The maps, which represent the analyzed data, make also part of this thesis.

Finanční analýza vybraného obchodního podniku / The financial analysis of the selected retail company

HLAVÁČ, Adam January 2013 (has links)
This thesis focuses on financial analysis of a chosen commercial enterprise and it covers the period from 2006 to 2010. For financial analysis was chosen enterprise ESSA, spol. s r.o. from České Budějovice. I used these groups of indicators for the analysis: vertical and horizontal analysis, profitability, activity, indebtedness, liquidity, bankruptcy model, creditworthy model.

Mezipodnikové srovnávání / Intercompany comparison

LAGARDE, Matyáš January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this thesis was to perform inter-company comparison by using different tools for a set of five construction companies. For comparison were selected five joint stock companies, which are in terms of market share, the largest. To the resulting comparison has been used inter-comparison methods, bankruptcy and credibility models and it was created credit rating companies AGR (Aspect Global Rating). Based on the chosen methodology, we compare the companies among themselves in terms of their economic situation.

Gas turbine combustor modelling for design

Murthy, J. N. January 1988 (has links)
The design and development of gas turbine combustors is a crucial but uncertain part of an engine development process. Combustion within a gas turbine is a complex interaction of, among other things, fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer and chemical kinetics. At present, the design process relies upon a wealth of experimental data and correlations. The proper use of this information requires experienced combustion engineers and even for them the design process is very time consuming. Some major engine manufacturers have attempted to address the above problem by developing one dimensional computer programs based on the above test and empirical data to assist combustor designers. Such programs are usually proprietary. The present work, based on this approach has yielded DEPTH, a combustor design program. DEPTH ( Design and Evaluation of Pressure, Temperature and Heat transfer in combustors) is developed in Fortran-77 to assist in preliminary design and evaluation of conventional gas turbine combustion chambers. DEPTH can be used to carry out a preliminary design along with prediction of the cooling slots for a given metal temperature limit or to evaluate heat transfer and temperatures for an existing combustion chamber. Analysis of performance parameters such as efficiency, stability and NOx based on stirred reactor theories is also coupled. DEPTH is made sufficiently interactive/user-friendly such that no prior expertise is required as far as computer operation is concerned. The range of variables such as operating conditions, geometry, hardware, fuel type can all be effectively examined and their contribution towards the combustor performance studied. Such comprehensive study should provide ample opportunity for the designer to make the right decisions. It should also be an effective study aid. Returns in terms of higher thermal efficiencies is an incentive to go for combined cycles and cogeneration. In such cases, opting for higher cycle pressures together with a second or reheat combustor promise higher thermal efficiencies and exhaust temperatures and hence such designs are likely to be of interest. The concepts that are needed for understanding a double or reheat combustor are also addressed using the programme. A specific application of the programme is demonstrated through the design of a double combustor.

Modulation of ultrviolet light induced skin carcinogenesis by extracts of Rooibos and Honeybush using a mouse model:elucidating possible protective mechanisms

Petrova, Antoinette January 2009 (has links)
Thesis(M Tech(Biomedical Technology))--Cape Peninsula University of Technology, 2009 / This thesis provides the first scientific evidence of the photoprotective properties of rooibos and honeybush herbal tea extracts and to some extent, two major honeybush polyphenols, hesperidin and mangiferin. These properties were demonstrated using in vivo models by: Providing evidence for the inhibition of tumour promotion by ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation in a two-stage skin carcinogenesis mouse model. Topical application of polyphenol-rich extracts of rooibos and honeybush prior to UVB tumour promotion of 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA)-initiated mouse skin, inhibited the formation of tumours. The rooibos and honeybush extracts decreased the incidence and volume of the tumours. Topical application of hesperidin and mangiferin were less effective than the honeybush extracts as only the tumour volume was decreased, but not the incidence. Providing evidence for the inhibition of photodamage of the skin by UVB exposure in a mouse model. Topical application of polyphenolic rich extracts of honeybush prior to UVB irradiation of mouse skin reduced erythema, peeling, oedema and hyperplasia. The depletion of antioxidant enzymes catalase and superoxide dismutase (SOD) was prevented. The extracts protected the skin from oxidative and direct DNA damage, and reduced lipid peroxidation. The induction of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) was also reduced. Topical application of the polyphenols hesperidin and mangiferin showed reduced protective effects compared to the extracts. Suggesting the possible mechanisms by which honeybush and the polyphenols protect against photocarcinogenesis such as reducing tumour promotion, inflammation and oxidative stress. Suggesting the benefits of including honeybush and rooibos as cosmeceuticals in skin care products and sunscreens as part of the strategy for preventing skin cancer. Discussing the recommendations for further study such as investigating more specific chemopreventive activities of these two South African herbal teas and their polyphenols, dose response studies and clinical evaluations.

Regresní analýza výskytu opakovaných událostí / Regression analysis of recurrent events

Rusá, Pavla January 2018 (has links)
