STRATEGIC CHALLENGES OF MULTI-SIDED INTERNET START-UPS / Strategické výzvy multi-stranných internetových start-upů

Mucha, Tomáš January 2012 (has links)
The theory of this thesis focuses on particulars of multi-sided platform businesses with special emphasis put on early stage start-ups. The goal is to capture crucial findings and fuse them together to point out specifics which apply only for start-ups that are developed in form of multi-sided platform business. This thesis should provide guidance to all entrepreneurs considering such new business formations. It aims at showing them the most important points leading to positive value creation in multi-sided platform businesses. Specifically, it explains the strategic points hidden behind pricing and network effects utilization. At the same time it depicts what are the unnecessary distractions which just destroy attention and consume time and effort. Consequently, these findings are tested on practical example, where real start-up is modelled using this theoretical framework. Such real application points out strong and weak points. Consequently, the optimal framework is derived based on prior findings. The main suggestions point out what should be examined further by the theory and where the research captured enough knowledge.

Návrhové vzory pro webové aplikace / Design Patterns for Web Applications

Dudek, Jan January 2008 (has links)
With the coming of the web a brand new type of client-server applications based on standard web technologies has started to appear. These technologies are available on an overwhelming majority of client stations and don't need any additional software to be installed. As a result web applications have gained popularity among both users and developers and are currently deployed not only on the Internet, but also on company intranets. Considering present expansions of such applications it is important to summarize tested and approved approaches usable in their design. And it is this particular work that describes the chosen design patterns applicable in web applications development and demonstrates their usage on both concrete existent systems and a custom sample application.

Development Of A Gis-based Monitoring And Management System For Underground Mining Safety

Salap, Seda 01 September 2008 (has links) (PDF)
Mine safety is of paramount concern to the mining industry. The generation of a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) which can administrate relevant spatial data and metadata of underground mining safety efficiently is a very vital issue in this sense. In an effort to achieve a balance of safety and productivity, GIS can contribute to the creation of a safe working environment in underground (U/G) mining. Such a system should serve to a continuous risk analysis and be designed for applications in case of emergency. Concept for safety should require three fundamental components, namely (i) constructive safety / (ii) surveillance and maintenance / and (iii) emergency. The implementation has to be carried out in a Web-Based Geographic Information System. The process comprises first the safety concept as the application domain model and then a conceptual model was generated in terms of Entity- Relationship Diagrams. After the implementation of the logical model a user interface was developed and GIS was tested. Finally, one should deal with the question if it is possible to extend the method of resolution used to a national GIS infrastructure.

Automatizovaná podpora procesu vývoje webu s důrazem na SEO / Automated support of web development process with emphasis on SEO

Hejl, Zdeněk January 2008 (has links)
Principal aim of this thesis is the design of new website development process model and the design and implementation of its automated support by information technologies instruments. Process design itself will be build on identified best practices of available methodics for web applications development and this process will also respect and apply SEO (Search Engine Optimization) principles Biggest contribution of this thesis is designed web application development process model which is based on web application development methodics best practices and also contains additional activities which have to be done but they aren't part of these methodics. Mapping of the optimization process and designed process activities and implementation of automated support for these activities via desktop application are next important contributions of this thesis. This thesis is divided into five main chapters (except introduction and conclusion). First chapter is focused on definition of application development basic concepts and mainly on analysis of web application development methodics. Second chapter takes up analysis outputs and it forms the basis of this thesis. Design and description of web development process model generate the content of this chapter. Third chapter deals with SEO problems, in the concrete, it deals with definition of SEO, presentation of optimization process and especially with presentation of optimization recommendations. Fourth and fifth chapters are focused on automated support for web development process model with emphasis on SEO. Within the scope of fourth chapter, process model activities which can be supported by application are identified and user requirements are defined for these activities. Last fifth chapter is focused on presentation of implemented application for web development with emphasis on SEO support.

Systemunterstützung für den Abgleich von Geschäftsobjekten zwischen Anwendungsservern über WebServices: Systemunterstützung für den Abgleich von Geschäftsobjekten zwischen Anwendungsservern über WebServices

Ameling, Michael 07 September 2009 (has links)
Business applications such as supply chain management (SCM) or customer relationship management (CRM) are replicated in order to reach high scalability and fast local access. The business objects representing the data containers have to be synchronized to stay consistent across the application servers. This thesis provides a contribution to reach more efficiency during the synchronization process by reducing the amount of synchronization messages and the amount of data to be transmitted. The additional effort due to further processing steps is taken into account via a proper cost model.

Nemejovský, Michal January 2012 (has links)
The main focus of this diploma thesis is the characteristics of key aspects, which are important when designing, implementing and maintaining web application, whereas these aspects differ according to business model of the web application. The thesis reflects modern trends in the areas of web project management, UX, web design, E-Commerce process management etc. The thesis consists of the introduction, theoretical part, practical part and conclusion. In the introduction I present the reason for picking this topic, the more in-depth targets of the thesis, preconditions, restrictions, in-depth structure, sum-up the expected contribution and present research of the field. The theoretical part consists of the information about online business and introduction of the web applications. Furthermore, the key domains are presented with the new trends in different areas of web applications. In the practical part, at the beginning, there are categories of web applications defined, which are based on different business models introduced earlier. This part is followed by the comprehensive analysis in the field of web E-Commerce applications for each category of the web application, with the output of trends and best practices in the field according to each domain of the web application. It is then followed by the analysis of situation around web applications in general, because here were also some trends and best practice noticed. In conclusion I sum up the acquired results, introduce the contribution of the thesis and think about the situation around the web applications.

Fusion de données géoréférencées et développement de services interopérables pour l’estimation des besoins en eau à l’échelle des bassins versants / Geospatial data fusion and development of interoperable services to assess water needs at watershed scale

Beaufils, Mickaël 04 December 2012 (has links)
Nowadays, preservation of the environment is a main priority. Understanding of environmental phenomena requires the study and the combination of an increasing number of heterogeneous data. Several international initiatives (INSPIRE, GEOSS) aims to encourage the sharing and exchange of those data.In this thesis, the interest of making scientific models available on the web is discussed. The value of using applications based on geospatial data is demonstrated. Several methods and means that satisfy the requirements of interoperability are also purposed. Our approach is illustrated by the implementation of models for estimating agricultural and domestic water requirements. Those models can be used at different spatial scales and temporal granularities. A prototype based on a complete web service oriented architecture was developed. The tool is based on the OGC standards Web Feature Service (WFS), Sensor Observation Service (SOS) and Web Processing Service (WPS).Finally, taking into account the imperfections of the data is also discussed with the integration of methods for sensitivity analysis and uncertainty propagation.
