This study intends to explore and give insight in how the Swedish PR-profession has evolved due to digitization, in reference to the science expectations of the professions evolvement.Through qualitative interviews, six Public Relations practitioners has supplied this study with the empirical basis which with an interpretive analysis generates a comprehensive insight into the Swedish public relations profession. This study has analyzed the PR-practitioner’s descriptions of their communicative activities through Grunig and Hunts (1984) four communicative models and with consideration to social contexts. The digitization and the emergence of social media is described by science as the beginning of a new communicative paradigm, which entails a development towards symmetrical dialogue that will generate mutual understanding between the organization and stakeholders (Grunig, 2009). This analysis shows that the Swedish public relations profession exhibit tendencies to evolve with scientific prophecy. The study also shows that the organizations still widely don’t operates with the symmetrical two-way model.

The Role of Information and Communication in Organisations Diagnostic Tools of Information and Communication Processes The thesis has the objective to explore the interaction of the terms information and communication in organizational settings, and to identify their common characteristics and direct mutual influence. By introducing settings with open and closed communication climates, and diagnostic tools of communication and information audits, the author highlights the mutual overlap of these terms. The first part of the thesis provides an introduction into the theoretical terms information and communication as used in the historical context of their mother disciplines, identifies their similarities and differences, and, most importantly, highlights the long-term intense overlap of these terms at various levels. The second part goes on to introduce the basic forms of organizational structures affecting information transfer, i.e. direction, speed and accuracy of formal and informal information flows in organizational communication networks. The concept of information is brought into context with communication climate which has a direct influence on its form, quantity, quality and timeliness. The aim of this graduation thesis is to introduce the effective information processing during extraordinary occurrences. Initially, it processes the information generally, presents it's life cycle and types of communication. It also explains models of communication. The second part depicts extraordinary occurrences. It defines particular sorts of extraordinary occurrences and possible critical countermeasures. It targets the legal regulation, which defines these situations. In the last part, the author explains hers performed survey of public opinion on extraordinary occurrences, which she interprets both graphically and in writing. In conclusion, this graduation thesis evaluates the policy of the Czech Republic during extraordinary occurrences.

Text in Afrikaans / In hierdie verhandeling word die aard van kommunikasie van die Lugmagbasis (LMB) Swartkop onder die loep geneem. Die outeur toon aan dat daar nie altyd duidelikheid is oor die aard van kommunikasie in militere instellings nie. Dit het die prikkeling gebied om die aard van kommunikasie in 'n militere installing te bepaal - in hierdie geval, LMB Swartkop. Die rede vir die studie is om kommunikasie as 'n interne organisatoriese reeling by die LMB Swartkop te ondersoek. Om die agtergrond tot die navorsing te bied, word die ekonomiese- en politieke redes vir verandering by die LMB Swartkop kortliks weergee. Die redes hoekom hierdie Lugmagbasis as fokusgebied gebruik word vir die navorsing, word ook aangevoer. Daar word met die navorsing gefokus op vertikale kommunikasie, horisontale kommunikasie, diagonale kommunikasie, asook enkele interne organisatorieseen omgewingsfaktore. Enkele aspekte ten opsigte van eksterne faktore, soos byvoorbeeld die 1994-verkiesing en die nuwe Grondwet, wat kon lei tot verbetering van kommunikasie te Lugmagbasis Swartkop en die houding van die personeel jeens kommunikasie word ook aangeraak. Die bevindinge van die navorsing wentel rondom die feit dat vertikale, horisontale en diagonale kommunikasie 'n definitiewe bydrae maak om werk op die Lugmagbasis Swartkop effektief te verrig. Hierdie kommunikasie vind hoofsaaklik plaas wanneer daar formeel en informeel oor werk gekommunikeer word. / In this dissertation, the nature of communication of the Air Force Base Swartkop is being put under the magnifying glass. The author indicates that the nature of communication in military organisations is not clear This provided the incentive to study the nature of communication of a military organisation and in this case, Air Force Base Swartkop. The reason for the study is to determine how the nature of communication as an internal organisational arrangement contributes to the effective functioning of the base. This study focuses on vertical, horizontal and diagonal communication as well as internal organisational, external and environmental factors. Aspects such as the personnel's attitude towards communication is discussed as well. The findings of the study centre on the fact that vertical, horizontal and diagonal communication make a definite contribution to the effective functioning of the base.
