El trabajo presenta la experiencia profesional en uno de los proyectos de modernización más emblemáticos del transporte público de Lima: la futura Línea 2 del metro de Lima y Callao, el primer subterráneo del Perú. Respecto a ello, desarrollo los hallazgos sobre los discursos de modernidad imaginados desde tres actores que se involucran con el proyecto. Así, primero, se evalúan a las instituciones estatales que participan directamente; segundo, el sector privado, específicamente las empresas que conforman el consorcio constructor; y tercero, los residentes de las zonas directa e indirectamente afectadas por el proyecto. Finalmente, discuto cómo estos discursos de modernidad son apropiados por los actores y cuál ha sido el rol de la antropología en este proceso. / The work presents the professional experience in one of the most emblematic modernization projects of public transport in Lima, the future Line 2 of the Lima and Callao metro, the first subway in Peru. I develop the findings on the discourses of modernity imagined from the three actors involved with the project. First, the state institutions that participate directly with the project; second, the private sector, specifically the companies that make up the construction consortium; third, the residents of the areas directly and indirectly affected by the project. And finally, I discuss how these discourses of modernity are appropriated by the actors and what has been the role of anthropology in this process.
