Enlargement of a Modular System—Synthesis and Characterization of an s-Triazine-Based Carboxylic Acid Ester Bearing a Galactopyranosyl Moiety and an Enormous Boron Load

Kellert, Martin, Lönnecke, Peter, Riedl, Bernd, Koebberling, Johannes, Hey-Hawkins, Evamarie 11 April 2023 (has links)
The amount of boron accumulated in tumor tissue plays an important role regarding the success of the boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT). In this article, we report a modular system, combining readily available starting materials, like glycine, 1,3,5-triazine and the well-known 9-mercapto-1,7-dicarba-closo-dodecaborane(12), as well as alpha-d-galactopyranose for increased hydrophilicity, with a novel boron-rich tris-meta-carboranyl thiol.

Seiler, Florian, Schwede, Lea-Nadine, Krause, Dieter 03 January 2020 (has links)

The Different Lives of Spaces - Reconsidering the City Block as a New Neighborhood in Washington Dc

Butz, Benjamin 13 September 2007 (has links)
The city with its urban density, infrastructure, and cultural, social and educational opportunities can be a desirable place to live for all - regardless of age, income or background. The city of today has changed considerably from the city of the 19th century. Neither is it the city of the future. However, it has great potential to anticipate to the challenges we will face in the future. It is a place that constantly changes. It is a living organism! This constant change is a challenge for architects to develop concepts and design-solutions that can react to shifting uses, zoning requirements, and dweller habits. The constant alteration of lifestyle, residential and commercial use, as well as job-related needs demands a high flexibity and adaptability in architecture and urban planning. Today's life is fast and unpredictable. Other contemporary issues such as sustainabilty or climate change are becoming key issues of today's discussion - in society, in the media and in world policy. Architects - responsible for our built environment - have to find innovative solutions to such ever-changing problems within their profession - within architecture. How can a concept, project or building be designed or constructed to anticipate those future needs, and what are the limits? To explore these questions and many more that followed I chose a site in midtown Washington DC. My thesis project includes 23 townhouses with partial retail, incorporated along an alley in the interior of a city block. The new development is integrated into the existing structure. / Master of Architecture

Vývojová deska s ARM Cortex M4 / ARM Cortex M4 Development board

Volek, Lukáš January 2013 (has links)
In this work I aimed at designing a universal system for testing either STM32F407/417 by STMicroelectronics and later various sensors and communication buses. The result then is a main board with many specific connectors for individual buses even with connectors making all I/O pins accessible at the same time. Thanks to advanced switching regulators the power supply is capable of accepting a wide range of sources like single Li-Ion cell, pair of alkaline cells, 12V Lead battery, common wall power adapters (both DC and AC up to 15 Vpp ), USB, laboratory power supplies with multiple outputs and finally POE (Power Over Ethernet). Supply voltages are supervised by voltage comparators with an optical signalisation. (It is possible to determine the sick branch without a measuring instrument and blowing components in the most cases.) Another important parameter was a robustness of the supply and communication lines. There is a number of TVSs, chokes, and big and low ESR capacitors A PC software is intended for a basic functionality demonstration only.
