The aim of the thesis was first to theoretically define the topic of motivation and corporate culture in the work of a construction company. The theoretical part describes the basic concep e.g. The specifics of construction engieering, construction company, motivation, demotivation, corporate culture, etc. In the empirical part, the theory is verified by a quantitative questionnaire survey in construction companies of various sizes. The subsequent analysis is qualitatively supplemented by controlled interviews with representatives of individual companies. Finally, some recommendations are needed to improve the motivation and corporate culture of construction companies.

Title: Management of Physical Education and Sport Field of Study - Students' Motivation and Studying Satisfaction. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to identify current students and graduates ' main motives for initiating the study of Management of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University in Prague. The work maps whether the students are satisfied with their choice of study and detect whether the expectations they had before studying were met. Another aim of the thesis is to develop recommendations for increasing students' satisfaction with the field of study and to propose recommendations which may lead to the improvement of the current situation on the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. Methods: The thesis uses the method of questioning and group discussion method. The questioning method was applied on a sample of respondents comprising of all the current students of Management of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University in Prague and the graduates in this field. Group discussion method was applied to a selected sample of eight students from the researched field of study. The aim of the thesis was to analyze the level of motivation and stimulation in a choosen company, it's effect on the current management, and proposals for measures leading to the desired condition. The research was conducted at the company CVP Gavanika s. r. o., whose major activity involves electroplating. The company has operated on the Czech market since 1992. The assessment of this condition was primarily based on the information resulting from a questionnaire survey. Uncontrolled interviews with the executives of the company served as another source of information. The survey was conducted in all branches of the company including it's headquarters. At this point two grades of employees were addressed: the average employees and the management. The obtained data were processed according to appropriate methods. Following the ordination and analysis of the data, the description, comparation and overall assessment of the effect of motivation and stimulation on the current management was done. The final part of the thesis features a synthesis of the obtained information and provides practical suggestions leading to a desired state within this field. The management team of the company was advised on how to make improvements in the following issues: praising and appreciation, stress management, participation of employees to the decision-making process, education, awareness, comunication, use of feedback, relations, equality at the workplace, and strengthening the corporate culture.

Depuis une vingtaine d’années, une grande évolution socio-économique apporte dans les entreprises chinoises des changements profonds sur les pratiques de la gestion. Face aux défis successifs de la concurrence, comment motiver efficacement les employés afin d’obtenir plus de performance devient une question majeure. Néanmoins, la motivation au travail est un phénomène complexe. Notre recherche mobilise une démarche qualitative et une analyse quantitative sur les pratiques de gestion de la motivation dans trois types d’entreprises chinoises, étatique, privée, et sino-étrangères, dans la perspective d’identifier les facteurs qui influencent effectivement la motivation des employés chinois dans leur travail. Noussouhaitons que notre recherche puisse être utile pour les managers chinois et les managers étrangers en Chine qui cherchent à améliorer la gestion de la motivation de leurs employés. / Since last 20 years, with the ongoing social and economic development, Chinese companies have profoundly changed their management practices. Facing the enormous challenges of the competition, how to motivate employees in a productive way and realize more performance has become a crucial issue for each enterprise. However, the motivation of Chinese employees in the workplace is a complex phenomenon. Our research adopts both qualitative and quantitative approaches to study the motivation practices in three kinds of Chinese companies: state-owned, private and Sino-foreign companies. Our research goal is to find out the factors that can effectively influence Chinese employees’ motivation in their workplace. This research can be useful for either Chinese managers or foreign managers that are working in China to improve their efficiency in motivating their employees.
