At the beginning with concepts and associations with the erotic, starting from the myth of Eros and Psique and developing relations with Georges Bataille's theory on the theme. Afterwards, other associations are made, now with relation to the own fantastic literature. With the essence of this literature, examples of the traditional close to the contemporary. A last, association is made with the absurd literature. The contemporary man as being object and its configuration represented in the field of the dreams and its possibilities. At the end of the work, a "post scriptum" suggests a more imersive reading of tales in the entire that appeared broken into fragments along the research / A presente disserta??o tem o intuito de propor uma leitura redimensionada da literatura fant?stica e, em especial, de seu maior representante brasileiro, o autor mineiro Murilo Rubi?o.

The literature, as a social representation, has several means of creation. Among them, we emphasize the fantastic literature that is far from the reality of logic to make clear the contradictions of modern society. Even the literature classified as realistic, in some cases, also makes concessions to the fantastic procedures to question the human relationships. In doing so, this dissertation analyzed the short stories ?A cidade?, ?B?rbara?, ?O ex-m?gico da Taverna Minhota? and ?Bot?o-de-rosa?, by Murilo Rubi?o. In the Rubi?o?s short stories, we identified the presence of defamiliarization effect caused by the contact with the absurd, however this procedure has allegiance to arbitrariness present in short stories that deal with themes such as the reification of human being, rampant consumerism and forms of censorship and authoritarianism. As mimesis of modern society, Rubi?o writes social criticism tirelessly and guided by a constant rewriting of the narrative, and his work held in 33 short stories. For the analysis, we present an integrative review of literature and society, endorsed on the analysis of the fantastic way in the selected narratives. To this end, we had the theoretical support of Chiampi (2008), Paes (1985), Todorov (1992), Garc?a and Batalha (2012) and Roas (2014) for a discussion about speech. Allied to these notions, we proposed the critical integration to thinking about marketing assimilation suffered by the individual in modernity (Debord, 1997). In summary, we had such great interest to verify the intended use of the fantastic procedures for reporting scenes and authoritarian practices in social reality.
