O programa Minha casa minha vida entidades no município de São Paulo / The My House My Life entities programme in São Paulo

Patricia Maria de Jesus 02 February 2015 (has links)
The initial outlined hypothesis was that Social Movements would not have insertion in My House My Life Program, since it has been projected not considering the National Housing Plan in the core of the National Housing Policy, which is a theme that was tirelessly discussed for decades by this group and other sectors of civil society. So, we examined the legacy of federal housing policies carried out in Brazil since the period of the Military Dictatorship until the advent of the My House My Life, which led us to understand the Program itself and more, as its inspirations and context of creation. However, in 2009 (year of the the Program release), there was in its portfolio a specific modality to be performed by non-profit entities. Then, we sought to understand how Housing Social Movements were inserted and had access to My House My Life Program. This meant to understand the formulation of the Program and its operation. The real estate projects analysis under construction or project in the Sao Paulo city and its metropolitan area as well as all other issues raised in the investigation showed that the Entities mode is a set of previous history federal housing programs adaptations and own My House My Life Program in your service modality Track 1 (families whose incomes reach up to 3 times the minimum wage) operated by FAR. It has also concluded that its existence does not mean favorable access conditions to the Program by the social movements that have claimed. The thesis analyzes and discusses the importance of modality advent (part) placing it in perspective with the My House My Life Program (whole), and suggests its stay, just despite its ideological, budgetary and operational problems.

A Narrative and Poetic Exploration into Self-Defining Asperger’s: Ceasing to be X-1

Boskovich, Lisa 01 May 2015 (has links)
Research has found that females on the autism spectrum often spend years not understanding why they are different resulting in experienced otherness. My self-directed study written through narrative and poetry-explored the story of a non-traditional graduate student on the autism spectrum at a university. This thesis addresses the question “how is identity shaped through life events”? Looking inside the layers and doorways of self challenged my own long held assumptions of difference and marginalization. Acceptance of self is a lifetime journey. The result showed mentoring is a critical function of academic and personal success. Suggestions are provided to educators to see the person as an individual, look for the twice-gifted student, and attempt to understand the feelings of marginality. These suggestions are presented with the hope of bringing insight and awareness to educators’ understanding of individuals on the wide spectrum called Autism.

Something's happening on ABC : queerly reevaluating Twin Peaks and My So-Called Life

Kruger-Robbins, Benjamin 14 October 2014 (has links)
This research reconsiders two ABC programs from the early 1990s, Twin Peaks and My So-Called Life, through the frames of queer-theory based textual analysis, press discourse, and fan reception. I begin by arguing that both programs, which emerged in concert with the solidification of queer studies as an academic field, exist as televisual oddities that provided a temporary space for the exploration of queer subjectivities in primetime; this analysis also invokes the non-normative positioning of showrunners David Lynch and Winnie Holzman based on their previous and subsequent work. Secondly, I posit popular press receptions/retrospectives as undermining the queer centrality of both programs by adhering to heteronormative frameworks such as “quality television.” Lastly, I discuss fan reclamations of both programs through slash fiction and collaborative web forums as illuminating the intrinsic queerness of Twin Peaks and My So-Called Life lost through dominant press narratives. / text

Visions of the Past: Engagement and Avoidance Through Nostalgia in My Ántonia

Mazzeo, Maren 01 March 2015 (has links)
In Willa Cather's My Ántonia, nostalgia marks both the ambience of the novel and its critical focus. This thesis illuminates Cather's self-aware deployment of nostalgia as an artistic tool and nostalgia's role in Jim Burden's agenda-driven narrative. Jim adopts nostalgic narrative as propaganda to justify and glorify his past and present life, presenting his past as a simplified and romanticized origin myth. However, through the novel's frame narrative and the frequent, jarring vignettes of violence and discord, Cather undermines Jim's authority as a narrator and prompts reconsideration of Cather's endorsement of his nostalgic creation. By appreciating the complex deployment of nostalgia within the text we are prompted to reconsider assumptions about nostalgia, Cather, and Cather's interest in representations of the past.

Παναγιώτου, Ιωάννης 04 November 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the development of a cloud application for web services. The application is called “My Calendar” and it is hosted on Google’s infrastructure. Everyone can access it from a simple web browser. First of all, we make an introduction in order to understand the meaning of cloud computing and be able to handle with the Google Cloud Platform. We describe the deployment of the application and we present its operations. Users must register in order to login and, after that, they could enter the interface which enables them to organize their schedule. We tried to focus on creating a user-friendly application and we emphasized on the functionality, so even the most inexperienced user could easily cope with it. As a result, we developed “My Calendar” with a view to everyone who wants to manage his/her scheduled tasks.
