O pano de fundo para tal compreensão foi uma escola da rede estadual de ensino, onde funciona a educação especial da Secretaria Estadual de Educação (SEDUC). Dessa forma, a partir da metodologia da inserção ecológica foi possível investigar o contexto do núcleo e sua influência no desenvolvimento dos alunos, dos pais e dos profissionais. Os componentes utilizados para entender estas relações foram: processos proximais, pessoa, contexto e tempo. Como processo, entendemos as diversas relações estabelecidas pelos atores no contexto família, escola e NAAH/S. O tempo se configurou um elemento fundamental para entender cronologicamente a relevância dessas relações, principalmente pela característica de continuidade estabelecida nas interações. Esses componentes ecológicos inter-relacionados influenciaram as ações, as percepções e o comportamento das pessoas. A pesquisa evidenciou que no NAAH/S a partir das vivências estabelecidas os pais aprenderam a lidar com as expectativas e dificuldades de seus filhos, os profissionais desenvolveram melhor sua qualificação, desempenhando seu papel com os alunos de forma mais eficiente e eficaz, ajudando-as a aprimorar suas habilidades e a vencer suas limitações. As crianças passaram a se entender, a lidar com seus medos e frustrações e encontrar seu espaço na sociedade. O Estudo possibilitou, ainda, as reflexões sobre: os conceitos, históricos e mitos sobre Altas Habilidades. A construção de um cenário histórico do atendimento das Altas Habilidades no Brasil e em Manaus proporcionou o entendimento político do contexto, sendo possível evidenciar que ainda falta apoio ao núcleo e políticas públicas, principalmente, de financiamento educacional para atender essa demanda.
