The aim of this study is to deepen the understanding of women's working conditions within the NGO sector in Colombia, and to find out what factors that impact women’s possibilities for achievements. Through out a qualitative approach five interviews with women were conductedin Bogotá, the capital of Colombia. The collected data was analyzed by a qualitative content analysis, with the purpose to find themes and categorizations in the material, in order to interpret the respondents’ experiences and how they present them. The analysis shows, that what all respondents have in common is that previous life events and a dedication to contribute to societal changes, seem to be the most vital factors in terms of how they got to where they are today. In various ways, they all have noticed flaws in the system, to which they have committed full-hearted to change. Further, the results indicate that women’s likeability to be recognized as leaders are greater within the NGO sector, than in the society at large. However, despite the similarities found the results correspondingly show that there are differences in terms of perceptions as well as experiences. Thus, the results indicate the need to take various aspects into account, in order not to neglect the impact of different dimensions and factors.

This thesis describes the non-profit sector in Czechoslovakia in 1945 - 1951 period. In this pivotal period, the independent non-profit organizations were partly revived during the post-war reconstruction, but they have been gradually limited by the state pressure, aiming to achieve their ultimate liquidation. This study examines the causes and transformation tools of the NGO sector until its abolition, as well as their subordination to direct government oversight. This work views the topic especially in terms of financial and managerial aspects of the organizations during this period. Due to the fact that this is an unexplored issue, the theoretical knowledge related to the topic is presented first, and the terminology and legislative developments of this type of organization are subsequently clarified. The practical part uses the example of three socially oriented associations: YMCA, Czechoslovak Red Cross and Charita (Caritas), their specific economic issues and the examples of contemporary management.

This master thesis aims to unveil and examine the interplay between different actors in the fight against human trafficking. These are: the European Union, the Czech Republic and Belgium. A content (text) analysis of the primary sources gives the answers on how those actors work with the definition of human trafficking and to what extent the two member states implemented the EU Directive 2011/36/EU and other documents. In addition to conducting the content (text) analysis, creating a literature review and researching on different discourses linked to this phenomenon, this thesis include two semi-structured interviews with the representatives of the Czech Republic and Belgium. Those offer deeper insight into how those states form this fight in practice. They unveiled different aspects in their own approaches but also aspects that make their approach unique. This thesis examines also how the new strategy - the most important document framing the fight against human trafficking and the country's priorities - is adopted and what generally will those strategies include from the year 2020.
