Suburbanization is getting a problem in many growing cities nowadays. Undeveloped places are changing in master plans very fast and new living areas are often developed without any proper plan. This expansion often miss any concept and doesn't conform to needs of the place and residents. The result is becoming an irreversible fact. The goal of this work tries to show a general view on this situation. It brings the negatives together with positives and the best samples of new urban areas with quality public space. The aim is to find the right tools and procedure to find conceptual solution of new suburbs. The theoretical part of the document is applied to a model area, which is the design area for a new residential district.

The practical part of this thesis is focused on a comparison of the knowledge-based economy in Mexico with Latin American and OECD selected countries. The emphasis is placed upon education. The case study compares public and private education in Mexico and their support to the knowledge-based economy.

This work deals with defining garden wastes and their processing for energy products by pelleting and briquetting. This work compared a briquetting production line and a pelleting production line. Based on technical and economic data, the production costs for 1 t of briquetts/pellets were assessed and as a partial task, the economic profitability was assessed. As emerged from the results, when having similar purchase and production costs, pelleting is more efficient in a ratio of 2 : 1.

This thesis deals with the position of the cable television Home Box Office in the contemporary digital world. Work explores the history of television since its inception to the present time. The fundamental subject of investigation are the pillars of programming, that helped HBO create the unique program concept. This concept is called edgy. HBO also focuses on its own production, and edgy concept works especially for the original production, which represents a milestone in the history of HBO (but also in the history of television broadcasting) . Television production is for the first time accepted as artistic work. Thus HBO strengthens its unique position and holds it till now. The second part of this diploma focuses on the current situation of broadcasting. The main mover of today is Internet and so-called on-demand services (video on demand - VOD). The US market offers many more options for watching audiovisual content via VoD then Europe market. Vital service is then Netflix, which represents the fastest-expanding on-demand service. Diploma thesis in the second part deals with on-demand services - the development of these services, and the limitations of the current situation. The thesis also deals with HBO position in relation to the video-on-demand. The cable television offers to its subscribers a complementary service HBO GO, and since 2015 also a stand-alone service called HBO Now, which is for the first time available for non-subscribers of cable television. The final part is therefore devoted to the future outlook of HBO. The author sees a successful future of cable television in combination of linear broadcast, VOD service with a friendly user interface and original production, in which is necessary to keep the edgy concept and follow the pattern of previous years, in which HBO actually offered in comparison to other broadcasters truely different production.

The main focus is on issues regarding role formation e. g. inability of an ongoing act, deficient playing, spasm etc. in context of emotional acting and represented acting. Utilizing this eight- year time frame I describe how these problems influence me during various phases of my development, how I approached them and eventually my effort to find solution.

Foreign Trade in Petrochemical Industry of Iran

Iran's economy is characterized by over dependence on the oil sector. Iran has been gradually growing into a centre for production of petrochemicals in the world. Petrochemical industry is one of the significant components of oil industry and is one of the principal industries in Iran which has an influential role in Iran's economy. Although it is widely acknowledged that exports, particularly through manufactured components, play an important role as a potential source of economic growth. Hence, the aim of this research is to analysis the impact of petrochemical products export revenue on economic growth. Therefore the main objective of this research is the study of export-led growth hypothesis (ELG hypothesis) of Iran's economy in the petrochemical industry by taking a time series data for the period of 1990-2010. It applies ordinary least square (OLS) method to investigate the relationship between gross domestic product, exports of petrochemical products, real exchange rate and inflation. The results of the study show that there is a positive relationship between export of petrochemical products and economic growth which validate export-led growth hypothesis in petrochemical industry while negative impact of inflation and real exchnage rate is observed. Furthermore, in this study SWOT analysis of the Iran petrochemical industry is presented.

This work is dedicated mainly to the findings about character and acting as well as about myself, which I have gained during the rehearsing of the character Neschastlivtsev in Alexander Nikolayevich Ostrovsky´s play The Forest. This work not only describes the rehearsals of this play from Neschastlivtsev´s view, but also presents other examples of a director´s work and an actor´s interpretation, both from rehearsing before the boarding of the alumni class and from the following outside-of-school acting experiences.I have tried to define the method of my work on this play and on this concrete character; this method may resemble other methods on many other characters in some way. However, Neschastlivtsev is a very unconventional character - maybe because he is an actor himself, which makes him more approachable to the performer. He is a timeless and rare character as well; that is also one of the themes that I have covered in my work

The thesis deals with the completion of selected urban spaces at level of study. Object model is Doubravnik township, specifically its public spaces and unused areas of the former collective farm and a swimming pool. The work is divided into three parts. In the first part there is the literature review, which relates to the issue of public spaces in rural areas further to the needs of different population groups and unused areas in intravilan communities. These issues were selected reference examples. In the next part was made analyzes of individual spaces. Surveys and analyzes related to wider relations, history, natural conditions, operational and functional use. Based on the analyzes were determined values and problems of the area and starting point for the design. Solved locations are situated in different parts of the intravilan Doubravník. The design part is handled separately. The aim of this study was to create a comfortable residential space for township residents and visitors from the surrounding area. The important thing was to find a suitable function for the unused areas to allow their re meaningful use in accordance with the needs of the population.

Na busca de formas alternativas com vistas à aprendizagem de cirurgia veterinária, em substituição ao uso de animais vivos não humanos, e hoje proibidos por lei, o Hipervídeo é considerado um promissor candidato como uma ferramenta de auxilio ao aprendizado. O vídeo como meio de comunicação visual, dinâmico e combinado com áudio, se constitui num poderoso meio de comunicação. Aumenta o realismo e a autenticidade em ambientes de aprendizagem computadorizados. Através de recursos interativos adicionados nos vídeos, são exploradas outras mídias relacionadas aos conteúdos apresentados, aumentando a retenção mnemônica. Alinha-se, portanto, às teorias pedagógicas que defendem a importância da autonomia do sujeito nos processos de aprendizagem. O Hipervídeo pode, então, apoiar a criação de um ambiente rico e realista para aprendizagem, através do acesso interativo, construção e comunicação do conhecimento em cirurgia veterinária. Esta tese trata da avaliação de um ambiente Hipervídeo desenvolvido para apoiar a aprendizagem de cirurgia veterinária. O projeto foi desenvolvido com base em teorias cognitivas e meios de comunicação. A avaliação foi baseada na utilização do Hipervídeo por estudantes de medicina veterinária para aprenderem a realizar cirurgias, a fim de testar a sua eficácia na substituição de aprendizagem e formação, com animais vivos. Os resultados confirmam a hipótese, mostrando o potencial do Hipervídeo como uma ferramenta valiosa e eficaz para apoiar a aprendizagem da técnica cirúrgica. / Searching for alternative methods of learning in the veterinary surgery arena, in which the use of live animals is strictly regulated, the hypervideo is now considered a promising candidate as an instrument to facilitate the learning process. The dynamics of the video as a means of visual communication, combined with audio, constitutes in a powerful communication tool because it enhances the realism and authenticity in computer-based learning environments. Through interactive features added to the videos, other forms of media related to content submitted are explored, enhancing the mnemonic absorption. It corroborates teaching theories that advocate the importance of subject autonomy in the learning process. The hypervideo can then support the creation of a rich and realistic learning environment through interactive access, construction and communication of the knowledge in veterinary surgery. This research aims to evaluate the environment of hypervideo developed to help and facilitate the learning of veterinary surgery. The project was developed based on cognitive theories and the computer? media. The evaluation was based on the use of hypervideo for veterinary medicine undergraduate students to learn to perform surgery in order to test its effectiveness in replacing the learning and training experience with live animals. The results confirmed the hypothesis, showing the potential of hypervideo as a valuable and effective support method for learning the surgery techniques.

Modalidade 1:1 : tecnologia individual possibilitando redes de fluência digital

Alunos, professores, gestores, pesquisadores universitários, objetos tecnológicos, arquivos, registros, habilidades, ... são os nós que compõem a grande rede tecida na experiência piloto do Projeto Um Computador por Aluno na Escola Estadual de Ensino Fundamental Luciana de Abreu de Porto Alegre no Rio Grande do Sul onde foi desenvolvida a presente pesquisa. O problema central desta investigação é compreender como se dá a constituição de uma Rede de Fluência Digital a partir do trabalho com Projetos de Aprendizagem mediado pela tecnologia individualmente disponível na modalidade 1:1. A fim de identificar as relações entre a implementação da proposta pedagógica e a prática da modalidade 1:1 na escola, foram definidas três redes: a Rede de Atores, formada pela comunidade da escola Luciana de Abreu e pesquisadores do Laboratório de Estudos Cognitivos da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (LEC), atuando em uma pesquisa-ação; a Rede de Recursos, composta pelo laptop educacional XO e o ambiente virtual de aprendizagem AMADIS; e a Rede de Fluência Digital, resultado da interação entre estas redes. A abordagem teórico-metodológica que subsidia a elaboração do problema e a análise dos dados é a Epistemologia Genética. Desenvolveu-se um estudo de caso cuja unidade de análise foi a Rede de Atores que apresentou como evidências os arquivos dos laptops e os registros do histórico do ambiente virtual de um grupo de dez alunos da Rede de Atores e o diário de campo da observação participante da pesquisadora do LEC, autora desta investigação. Foram elaborados, a partir das evidências, Identificadores e Períodos Singulares da Rede de Fluência Digital, que auxiliaram na Identificação de peculiaridades e na Caracterização dos períodos singulares na constituição da Rede de Fluência Digital. Estabelecendo relações entre o conceito de Fluência Digital de Ba, Tally & Tsikalas (2002) e estas duas etapas da análise foram criadas as Categorias da Rede de Fluência Digital que permitiram, com o processo de Categorização da constituição da Rede de Fluência Digital, compreender que a Rede de Fluência Digital se deu pelo desenvolvimento de condutas cognitivas constituídas de meios elaborados pelos sujeitos da Rede de Atores para solucionar os problemas com os quais se deparavam quando em interação com a Rede de Recursos. Entende-se que este trabalho contribui para a área da Informática Educativa nos estudos relacionados à implementação da modalidade 1:1 nas escolas, à fluência digital, à vinculação entre prática pedagógica e Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação e a teorizações sobre possíveis relações entre estas e a Epistemologia Genética. Propõe-se dar continuidade a investigações relacionadas à modalidade 1:1 voltadas à formação de professores. / Students, teachers, administrators, university researchers, technological objects, files, records, abilities, ... these are the nodes that compose the big network built in the experience of Projeto Um Computador por Aluno in Escola Estadual de Ensino Fundamental Luciana de Abreu from Porto Alegre in Rio Grande do Sul/Brasil, where this research was developed. The central problem of this research is to comprehend how is the establishment of a Network of Digital Fluency from work with Learning Projects mediated by individually available technology in 1:1 mode. Three networks were defined in order to identify the relations between the implementation of pedagogical proposal and the practice of 1:1 mode in school: the Network of Actors, composed by Luciana de Abreu’s school community and researchers from Laboratório de Estudos Cognitivos da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (LEC), operating on an action research; the Network of Resources, comprised of the XO laptop and the virtual learning environment AMADIS; and the Network of Digital Fluency, the result from the interaction between these networks. The theoretical and methodological approach that corroborates the formulation of problem and the data analysis is the Genetic Epistemology. A case study was developed. Its unit of analysis was the Network of Actors that had presented as evidences the laptops files and the history records of the virtual environment of a group of ten students from the Network of Actors and the notes from the diary of the participant observation of the LEC’ researcher, author of this research. Identifiers and Singular periods of Network of Digital Fluency were developed based on the evidences. They were used in Identification of peculiarities and in Characterization of singular periods in Network of Digital Fluency constitution. The establishment of relations between the concept of Digital Fluency Ba, Tally & Tsikalas (2002) and these two steps of the analysis led to the creation of the Categories of Network of Digital Fluency that, by the Categorization of Network of Digital Fluency constitution, allowed to understand that the Network of Digital Fluency happened by the development of cognitive behavior constituted by the means elaborated by the subject of the Network of Actors to solve problems which were faced while interacting with the Network of Resources. It is understood that this doctoral thesis contributes to the area of Computers in Education in studies related to implementation of 1:1 mode in schools, digital fluency, linkage between pedagogical practice and Technologies of Information and Communication and theorizing about possible relationships between these and Genetic Epistemology. Se comprende que esta tesis doctoral contribuye para el área de la Informática Educativa en los estudios relacionados a la implementación de la modalidad 1:1 en las escuelas, a la fluidez digital, a la vinculación entre la práctica pedagógica y las Tecnologías da Información y Comunicación y las teorías sobre posibles relaciones entre estas y la Epistemología Genética. Se propone seguir con investigaciones relacionadas a la modalidad 1:1 que estén volcadas a la formación de profesores.
