No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2010-12-10 / The internet and the cyberculture inaugurated a new space for interpersonal relationship: the cyberspace. This place has been utilized for various scopes, including affective sexual relationships. The aim of this study was to provide a critical phenomenological research (or mundane) in order to understand the lived experience of people who have dated virtually. Fifteen people who have experienced this form of relationship were interviewed in order to understand the meaning those people give to their experience in these kind of relations. From the speeches, 10 emergent categories were raised and organized in 3 meaning units. The categories were: The virtual relations as another way to meet new people and The internet as a way out of shyness ; The feeling for the virtual other , The dating proposal , The intimacy in the virtual relationship ; The jeaolousy ; Loving feelings in the virtual relationship Virtual sex ; The communication of the feeling through writing . The lack of physica contact and The fights and the break up . It can be concluded that, contrary to  criticisms, that many times are addressed to virtual contacts, it is possible through internet, the expression of true feelings, including love. It was also possible to notice that virtual dating have characteristics derived from the romantic love, especially with regard to the idealization of the other. In contrast, while the relationship is happening on a virtual scope, the virtual dating is inserted directly into the contemporary context especially with regard to speed of information and changes within the intimacy. Thus, as much as the feelings are true, they are also traversed by the immediacy and fugacity of the current relationships. Key words: Internet, critical phenomenology, virtual relationships. / A Internet e a cibercultura inauguraram um novo espaço de relações interpessoais: o ciberespaço. Este lugar tem sido utilizado para os mais variados âmbitos, inclusive o de relações afetivo sexuais. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi promover uma pesquisa fenomenológica crítica (ou mundana) com o intuito de compreender a experiência vivida de pessoas que tiveram namoros virtuais. Foram entrevistadas quinze pessoas que já vivenciaram esta forma de relação, buscando compreender os sentidos que dão às suas experiências dentro desta forma de relacionamento. A partir das falas, foram levantados 10 categorias emergentes organizados em 3 unidades de sentido. As categorias foram: A relação virtual como mais uma forma de conhecer novas pessoas ; A Internet como uma saída para a timidez ; O sentimento pelo outro virtual ; O pedido de namoro ; A intimidade na relação virtual ; O ciúme ; Os sentimentos amorosos na relação virtual ; O sexo virtual ; A comunicação do sentimento através da escrita ; A falta do contato físico e As brigas e o fim do namoro . Pode-se concluir que, ao contrário das críticas que muitas vezes são endereçadas aos contatos virtuais, é possível, através da internet, a manifestação de sentimentos verdadeiros, inclusive o amor. Também foi possível perceber que os namoros virtuais possuem características oriundas do amor romântico, principalmente no que diz respeito à idealização do outro. Em contrapartida, estando o relacionamento acontecendo no âmbito virtual, o namoro virtual está inserido diretamente no contexto contemporâneo, principalmente no que diz respeito à velocidade das informações e às transformações no âmbito da intimidade. Assim, por mais que os sentimentos sejam verdadeiros, eles também são atravessados pelo imediatismo e pela fugacidade das relações atuais.
