Proměny obrazu druhého v českém cestopise dlouhého 19. století / Transfigurations of the image of the Other in Czech travelogues of the long 19th century

Heller, Jan January 2017 (has links)
Transfigurations of the image of the Other in Czech travelogues of the long 19th Century Abstract of the dissertation thesis Mgr. et Mgr. Jan Heller The thesis focuses on constructions of the image of the Other in Czech travelogues of the 19th century. The travelogue is a peripheral literary genre, both an artistic text and a historical source, and thus enables the viewer to combine perspectives of literary criticism and historical anthropology. Special attention is paid to religious motifs owing mainly to the fact that this theme has been left out of focus in the present research thanks to the emphasis on the linguistic and historic character of the Czech national emancipation movement. The intention of the thesis is to describe literary techniques in the individual travelogues (direct representations, narrative strategies, topics, attributes of characters) and the function they serve in the building of the image of the Other and thus of the image of oneself at the same time. The goal ...

January 2018 (has links)
Thus, this dissertation seeks to understand the process of emancipatory movement against the Portuguese empire for the independence of Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde, and to clarify some obscured and distorted doubts about the real failures, limitations and advances of the African Party of Guinean Independence and Cape Verde (PAIGC), after the conquest of independence that allowed the emancipation of the readjustment movement of November 14, and consequently the coup d’État of 1980. Understand elements of fragility of the political system of Guinea-Bissau, which allowed the democratic rupture of November 14, 1980, and, consequently, the coup d’État that deposed the first president of the democratically elected republic, as well as analyze the subsequent government of President João Bernardo Nino Vieira. In this sense, the methodological strategy selected to approximate the real was the documentary and bibliographic study, that is, the research in books, theses, dissertations, etc., which present relevant theoretical and empirical characteristics for the subject. Our conclusion is that the fact that the transition and consolidation ... (Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Mestre

Eleven years of war (1963/1973-1974) left indelible marks on the African peoples of the Portuguese colonies, in particular Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde, marks of five hundred years of ferocious domination of colonialists and Portuguese imperialism, that left as inheritance countries fragmented and politically unstable, weakened by internal conflicts. Our conclusion is that the fact that the transition and consolidation of democracy in Guinea-Bissau started from a military regime has contributed to the existence of powerful contradictions between the regime of both the first and second republics, it can only offer reasons for so many coups, and the failure to consolidate democracy in Guinea-Bissau. We believe, however, that other factors not directly related to this variable also help explain the attempts and the blows of later years.

České středohoří - kulturní krajina / The České středohoří Mountains - Cultural Landscape

Štefaniková, Jana January 2015 (has links)
Thesis "The České Středohoří Mountains - Cultural Landscape" deals with the territory of the České Středohoří Mountains' Protected Area as the landscape of settlements, namely settlements of rural character. Based on the field research, the basic characteristics of vernacular architecture in that territory are described and selected influences, that completed local villages' rural construction, are depicted. The thesis also provides evidence of regional interest in the national history and geography of the České Středohoří Mountains, especially in rural construction and urbanism. This interest in the national history and geography is discussed in the context of the development of Czech and German national emancipation. The entire work put emphasis on the period from the mid-19th century to the mid-20th century. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
