Raimundo Saraiva da Costa and fattening of animals fed a diet based on soybean and corn

Fernanda Boto Muniz 21 September 2009 (has links)
The red hybrid tilapia (Oreochromis sp), are not usually grown in the state of CearÃ, for lack of consumer habits in consuming such products and the lack of producers to invest in a large-scale production and execution of a marketing. Allied to these problems, there remains the difficulty of forming reproducers group that can produce progeny of individuals 100% red. The tilapia has been increasing in the state of Ceara with the cultivation of Nile tilapia variety Chitralada and be considered a fish of popular consumption is necessary to reduce production costs, using cheaper feed and add value to the product to meet demand consumer. One way of adding value would be the use of hybrid red because the color of the fish is a big attraction for the consumer. This study aimed to evaluate the degree of consanguinity of the hybrid red Station Fish Professor Dr. Raimundo Saraiva da Costa Engineering Department of Fisheries of the Center for Agricultural Sciences, Federal University of CearÃ, observing the staining pattern at the end of 1 nursery and test a diet based on soybean and corn for these hybrids using as a control group the Nile tilapia fed with commercial feed. To assess the degree of consanguinity were used lots of fries from five breeding pairs of red tilapia, belonging to the squad of players from the Fish Culture in question, where the young fish at the end of the first nurseries have coloring evaluated. For the test diet, the red hybrid were fed with commercial ration (treatment A) and non-conventional diet (treatment B). Was used as a control group of tilapia var. Chitralada fed commercial feed. In a final experiment, we observed a high degree of inbreeding among the animals of breeding red tilapia as the high percentage of black tilapia, indicating the occurrence of backcrossing relatives. The results for gain in weight did not differ significantly (p < 0.05) between treatments A and B, concluding that the commercial food and non-conventional diet were equally effective, and the commercial diet had a lower cost to use on a commercial scale, it is suggested that an appropriate balance in the diet unconventional, lowering the crude protein content of 35 to 28%. The control treatment was different (p > 0.05) compared to Treatment A and B, indicating that for the conditions under which the experiment was performed, the Nile tilapia had a higher performance than the red hybrid.
