Semiconductor manufacturing dashboard

Collier, Scott Allen 22 April 2013 (has links)
The semiconductor manufacturing process is a complex process that can consist of hundreds if not thousands of steps. During this process an enormous amount of data is generated and collected by several different systems. Analyzing this data can be complicated and time consuming. But, in order to optimize the manufacturing process, it is important to be able to process data quickly and provide data consumers an easy, meaningful way to view the data. Data consumers at a management level need to view data differently than someone who works in the semiconductor fabrication plant (FAB) operating the manufacturing equipment or a maintenance technician who fixes and maintains the equipment. So, it is important to provide these different data views to the users in a logical, organized way. This paper will discuss what a dashboard is, an overview of the semiconductor manufacturing process, and one implementation of a dashboard for the semiconductor industry, the Semiconductor Manufacturing Dashboard (SMD). An explanation of the systems involved in collecting and loading the data, the database structures, and the web servers used for development and production will also be discussed. / text

Moving Data Analysis into the Acquisition Hardware

Buckley, Dave 10 1900 (has links)
ITC/USA 2014 Conference Proceedings / The Fiftieth Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 20-23, 2014 / Town and Country Resort & Convention Center, San Diego, CA / Data acquisition for flight test is typically handled by dedicated hardware which performs specific functions and targets specific interfaces and buses. Through the use of an FPGA state machine based design approach, performance and robustness can be guaranteed. Up to now sufficient flexibility has been provided by allowing the user to configure the hardware depending on the particular application. However by allowing custom algorithms to be run on the data acquisition hardware, far greater control and flexibility can be offered to the flight test engineer. As the volume of the acquired data increases, this extra control can be used to vastly reduce the amount of data to be recorded or telemetered. Also real-time analysis of test points can now be done where post processing would previously have been required. This paper examines examples of data acquisition, recording and processing and investigates where data reduction and time savings can be achieved by enabling the flight test engineer to run his own algorithms on the hardware.

Real-time process control and simulation for chemical mix facility

Liu, Pi-Shien, 1960- January 1988 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to design a real-time control and simulation system for a chemical mix facility. A simulation circuit board and software simulation in an IBM personal computer emulated the real-time chemical mix facility. A second personal computer controlled the plant. The parallel port in the IBM PC computer serves as a communication path between the controlled and controlling system. Results show that the simulation can assist the design of the actual system.
