<p>Att drabbas av afasi kan innebära att en högst mänsklig förmåga går förlorad, vilket kan begränsa patientens kommunikationsmöjligheter. Därmed ställs högre krav på den icke verbala kommunikationen. Vårdpersonal beskriver svårigheter att skapa förståelse i denna form av kommunikation. Till följd av detta blir samspelet lidande och omvårdnaden kan därför inte anpassas till den unika människan. Syftet med denna litteraturöversikt är att belysa och sammanställa befintlig forskning, som beskriver hur olika icke verbala kommunikationsvägar integreras, i omvårdnaden till patienter som drabbats av stroke med afasi som följd. I metoden genomfördes sökningar i databaserna Cinahl och Medline. De 12 artiklar som inkluderats har kvalitetsgranskats och analyserats enligt Friberg (2006). I resultatet beskrivs hur den talande kroppen, stödet till den unika människan, kroppslig beröring och relationen har betydelse för förståelsen i den icke verbala kommunikationen. Diskussionen kretsar kring hur denna förståelse kommer i samspelet, för att se den unika människan och skapa relationen som ger stöd utifrån människans förutsättningar här och nu. Evaluating the Readiness of Nevada Nurse Practitioners for Clinical Practice Post-Graduation Utilizing the Nevada Nurse Practitioners' Prepardness for Practice Survey

As a result of changing demographics and an increasing need for access to healthcare, in 2013, the Nevada Legislature passed Assembly Bill 170 (AB170) allowing nurse practitioners (NPs) full practice authority in Nevada in 2013 (VanBeuge & Walker, 2014). With the movement from collaborative agreement to independent practice, recent NP graduates need to be prepared for transitioning from the NP student role to an independent practitioner role. Historically, speaking there have been numerous studies citing that NPs provide high-quality health care and have high patient satisfaction, yet there has been almost no research regarding the readiness for clinical practice post-graduation (Hart & Macnee, 2007). The purpose of this project was to develop a better understanding of readiness to practice, perceived barriers, and to develop recommendations for post-graduation nurse practitioners in Nevada. A brief survey was provided electronically to NPs who were members of the Nevada Advanced Practice Nurses Association (NAPNA).

Background: Nurses can meet women who have been victims of abuse anywhere in the healthcare. Healthcare providers have a responsibility to these women, and it requires a broad range of skills to identify the women and thus be able to help them. It is important to see all patients as unique individuals and provide good care to maintain their specific needs. This paper was done to increase the understanding of nurses' experiences in the encounter with the battered woman. Aim: The aim of this study was to illustrate how nurses experience the encounter with the battered woman. Method: Literature review with both qualitative and quantitative studies. Nine articles were chosen to be read, reviewed and analyzed. Results: Three themes and ten subthemes appeared. The nurse’s experience of the encounter with battered woman resulted in the following themes, the nurse's feelings in the encounter, the nurse's experience of the abused woman and the nurse's experience of their own profession. Conclusion: The results show that the encounter is a lack of knowledge within the studied subject. It appears that nurses' experiences in meeting with the battered woman are influenced by both personal and professional experience, knowledge and training, and an empathetic understanding of her

Background: For most children, being hospitalized is a whole new experience. The care should be safe and meet the children’s needs. In hospital care, children are a large group of patients. It’s important for them to be involved in decisions regarding their care and to get proper information. Working as a nurse, there’s a high possibility to meet with children being ill. In order to get more knowledge about how children experience their hospital stay this study was conducted.Aim: The aim of the study was to describe children’s experiences of being a patient in hospital.Method: The method used was a literature study, based on qualitative research. Eight articles from the databases Cinahl and PsycInfo read, reviewed and analyzed according to the model for analysis of qualitative studies made by Friberg.Results: Four themes and eleven sub themes were found. Children’s experiences of hospital care revolved around the hospital environment, their emotions, not being in control and the nursing staff.Conclusion: The result shows that children’s different experiences related to their hospital stay often is affected by the ability to have their parents close, to have the opportunity to play and to get the proper information from caring health professionals. Children describe both positive and negative experiences.
