Obraz a slovo / Image and word

Neznal, Vít January 2012 (has links)
Vít Neznal's MA thesis called The Image and the Word deals with images and words as the two primary means of representation and elaborates on Neznal's bachelor thesis, in which he examined their articulation through the medium of theatre. The author first interprets the nature ? identity of image and representation with regards to general esthetic categories (mimesis, intentional object, simulacrum), and goes on to focus on their specific manifestations within individual artistic domains (painting, photography, film, theatre), basing his analysis on the framework of numerous theoretical concepts (structural-semiotic discourse, the "esthetics of the performative," the "ontological principle," etc.). The author then reflects on the word, while keeping his previous conclusions in mind, mainly within the context of theatre. His central theme is the identity of the image, or representation. This influenced his choice of examples. The analyzed works are mainly connected through an exploration of the limits of representation and through the thematization of their artistic language.

Rudolf II. v obraze německy psané krásné literatury a dramatu 19. a 20. století / Rudolf II. in the image of German-language belles-lettres and drama of 19th and 20th Century

MAŠLOVÁ, Tereza January 2015 (has links)
The capture of image of the Emperor Rudolf II., his social surroundings and settlement in a historical science was the aim of the thesis called "Rudolf II. in the image of German-language belles-lettres and drama of 19th and 20th Century". Afterwards this image was compared by historical drama Ein Brudezwist in Habsburg by Franz Grillparzer and by two pieces of belles-lettres literature Der Engel vom westlichen Fenster by Gustav Meyrink and Nachts unter der steinernen Brücke by Leo Perutz. The all above mentioned pieces were used as the basic source of this Thesis, their interpretation is based on methodological concepts of memory. This Thesis is presented as a case study, which could become starting point for systematic research of the second life image of Habsburg monarchs in the future.

Zpracování difuzně vážených obrazů / Signal Processing for Diffusion Weighted Imaging

Petrek, Tomáš January 2015 (has links)
Diploma thesis explores the possibility of using diffusion-weighted images in medicine. The paper is a brief physical principle of operation of the magnetic resonance as a tool for non-destructive imaging of the internal structure of substances, the principle of the display contrast as T1, T2 and diffusion weighted images, the course of the sequence for obtaining images with different contrast. Medicine is faced with the problem of classification of pathological tissue in the brain. Contrast diffusion-weighted images does not visually determine the shape of pathological tissue in the form of a tumor or edema. With the T1 and T2 weighted images were calculated mask corresponding tumor and edema, that have been applied to the diffusion-weighted images. Images of the tumor and edema have been subjected diffusivity measurements and statistical evaluation for the purpose of classifying the type of tumor. Investigations were seven findings glioma and metastatic five awards. The research was focused on classifying pathological tissue.

Podobnost, nápodoba, proměna / Resemblance, Imitation, Metamorphosis

Blecha, Jakub January 2013 (has links)
The central theme of my thesis are theoretical assumptions of Plato's arguments based on the figure appearance in dialogues X. Republic and Sophist. Separated chapters are devoted to the interpretation of selected passages of dialogue. Some partial assumptions are developed in details, such as The one over many argument in dialogue X. Republic and the essence of the image from Sophist. One conclusion follows from these work: the use of figures appearance is extremely problematic, for that reason, because we can not clarify the nature of image, as its a definitional feature. Reduction of imitation and in the second case of the art of Sophists on a certain type of representation, however, does not lead to the intended goal (to know the subjects of interpretation), but pointed out some non-trivial descriptions of the philosophical framework of Plato's thought. Nestabilní obrazy / Unstable Paintings

Pražan, Jan January 2012 (has links)
My diploma thesis depends on form of traditional hanging picture. The theme of "unstable images" I tried to complete in three cycles Špalky, Kaktusy and Čaje. I filled them with two narrative paintings Kardinálové and one solo piece Acaccia hand. I'm trying to find a shape of the subject matter that would fill the picture significance of such a character that display that object could become replaceable.

Imaginativní interpretace Bible: Kniha Jonáš / Imaginative Biblical Interpretation: The Book of Jonah

Virago, Vendula January 2019 (has links)
The thesis deals with the Imaginative Biblical Interpretation and its dispositions for grasp- ing the biblical text particularly on the personal level, but also for the scientific use. Meth- od, which has been shaped by the historical need for adaptation for people who lived in the conditions of slavery in America. Also, attention is paid to the key element of imagination, in terms of the ability to recieve and construct mental images, which then act as stimulus for empathy and then deeper understanding of the text. There are three interpretations of the Biblical Book of Jonah in the text, where these facts were demonstrated. Two cases were based on very first confrontation with the text.
