Åhs Bodin, Ann-Sofie, Nordlund, Veronica January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this study was to investigate how a group of social workers look at the potentials and opportunities of Swedish addiction care. This trough interviews with a few social workers about the work with addiction care in the social service organization. The study was conducted as a qualitative approach with semi-structured interview guide where a total of four social workers participated. The results were analyzed by the social constructionist perspective, role theory and human service organization theory. This study revealed that the group studied has a consensus about addiction care and it seemed like this is based on the laws and guidelines they have to follow. It was also found that the work is often dictated by the organization's financial constraints. For successful components of addiction treatment the group studied thought that this was difficult to determine, but they lifted the client's own motivation, a place to live and employment as critical and especially important. The conclusion from this study demonstrates that the organization's financial constraints affect the individual social worker in his or her profession.
