Análise metabólica e metabolômica de atleta olímpico: Uma nova proposta para um nexus bioquímico

Resende, Nathália Maria 19 July 2010 (has links)
The metabolomics is an area of science "omics" that characterizes the phenotypes of the metabolites and the connection of these with their corresponding genotypes, allowing the identification of the metabolome of an individual. This metabolomics research allows to view the rapid responses of the biochemical and biological analysis of metabolism in any situation, whether environmental change, pathological, genetic or in response to exercise stress. This study aims main to present the mass spectrometry together with the clinical laboratory as a research tool for obtaining the metabolome of an athlete's Olympic Windsurfing Class RS:X. During exercise, the energy demand is increased by requiring changes in metabolism, and thus the metabolism provides answers to these various metabolic modifications. Therefore, analytical techniques, such as laboratory tests and mass spectrometry may be used for the metabolic evaluation, allowing to investigate and intervene in a scientific manner, the exercise prescription, control and monitoring of athlete training, helping with interventions to adaptation of physical exercise in improving their athletic performance.

An evaluation of the evolution and development of Olympic Solidarity, 1980-2012

Cuschieri, Marie-Therese January 2014 (has links)
According to the Olympic Charter, “the aim of Olympic Solidarity is to organise assistance to National Olympic Committees, in particular those which have the greatest need”. For the last five decades funding from the sale of Broadcasting Rights for the Olympic Games, allocated to the National Olympic Committees, has been channelled through Olympic Solidarity as a means of promoting development. The aim of this research was therefore to evaluate the extent to which this redistributive claim is evidenced through an analysis of the distribution of the Olympic Solidarity funding, and an insight into the life histories of people involved in the process of allocating grant aid for Olympic Solidarity's World Programme funding.

Medializace problematických období v životě známých sportovců a jejich reflexe / Medialization of problematic periods in the life of well-known athletes and their reflection

Kozlovská, Tereza January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis called "Medialization of problematic periods in the life of well-known athletes and their reflection on these periods" examines media coverage of selected athletes in the Czech environment with the method of qualitative analysis used on stories from two printed nationwide newspapers and their online versions. The research is supported by e-interviews with the athletes that provide their view on their portrayal. The aim of this thesis is to provide a deeper insight into the issue and to find out how problematic periods of athletes' careers are presented and how these athletes reflect on it. Research showed that throughout their problematic times, the media had been portraying selected athletes in both positive and negative ways, although their image was constantly filled with superlatives reflecting their achievements. Portrayals of problematic periods were congruent across selected media, which athletes themselves confirmed. At the end of the defined periods, or in later time, all selected athletes regained their media status of a hero or even a national hero. Interestingly, athletes did not care much about their public image, moreover, they often tried to completely free themselves from any influence of the media avoiding any possible negative repercussions. In addition, the...

Společný tým NDR a SRN na olympijských hrách v Melbourne v roce 1956 / The GDR and FRG olympic team at the Olympic games in Melbourne 1956

Veselková, Ivana January 2012 (has links)
Diploma thesis "The GDR and FRG olympic team at the Olympic games in Melbourne in 1956" describes the process of making the united german team, which has begun in 1955 and which was . Thesis deals with the mutual negotiations of both olympic teams and also describes the goals, which the sport officials and politics were trying to reach during the whole process of making the united team. The next part of the thesis deals with the real experience with the united german team at the summer olympic games in Melbourne in 1956 and also tries to answer the question, whether in reality this united german team was not more or less just two autonomous teams, which only had a few visible symbolic things such as clothes and flag together.
