The Strategy of Taiwanese company in mainland China: An empirical study of P company

Abstract The number of Taiwanese businessmen who invest money in Chinese market has increased recently. There are two factors which lead to this condition. Firstly, Reform and Open Policy has carried out since 1978. This reformation has helped China to open up, in other words, the cheap labor market, land, and some preferential policies were tried to accomplish. Therefore, Magnetic Effect was emerged. Secondly, in 1978, the development of economy in Taiwan has been promoted extremely positively. Moreover, service industry, industry and commerce have become the main industries. In 1980, Taiwan has become one of the Four Asian Tigers. After that, due to the increase in expanse of land and labor, the awareness of environmental protection, and the growth of new Taiwan dollar, it was harder for export oriented Taiwanese enterprises to operate. In order to make great process, some Taiwanese enterprises have moved to China, and most of them are sole - source investment, small and medium enterprises, moreover, they are export oriented. The number of Taiwanese investors in China has raised in these years, in addition, economic development of Taiwan and China has been in a mutually beneficial relationship. Company P of Taiwan was established in 1987 and its factory in China was set up in 1992. The aim of this dissertation is to figure out the way in which this company has been managed under the changeable environment. Firstly, the background of company P will be explained. Secondly, the strategies of management, factory migration and business concepts will be discussed. Finally, some plans for this company to make it better will be investigated. Enfoca a história da industrialização brasileira, enfatizando a concentração industrial no estado de São Paulo, de seu auge até o início do processo de desconcentração industrial no estado e de colapso do modelo Desenvolvimentista. O governo do General João Batista Figueiredo (1979-1985), é o palco principal de análise sobre a crise do modelo econômico e de importantes mudanças na postura das lideranças do empresariado industrial paulista. A FIESP, sob a gestão de Luís Eulálio Bueno Vidigal Filho, deixa de ser colaboradora e co-participante da elaboração e implantação de políticas econômicas do Governo Federal, tornando-se crítica e até de opositora ao governo e mesmo ao sistema autoritário propriamente dito, defendendo a Abertura e a Redemocratização. / This masters degree dissertation presents a study about the history of the Federação das Indústrias do Estado de São Paulo FIESP since its rise in 1928 until the end of the authoritarian government by 1985. It focus the history of the Brazilian industrialization, empathizing the industry concentration in the state of São Paulo, from its height until the beginning of the industry decentralization process in the state and the collapse of the Desenvolvimentista model. The government of General Joao Batista Figueiredo (1979-1985), is the main scenary of the analysis about the economic model and about important changes in leadership attitude of the industrial entrepreneur community from São Paulo state. FIESP, under Luis Eulálio Bueno Vidigal Filho management, stops being collaborative and co-participative in the elaboration and implementation of the economic politics of Federal Government, becoming critic and opposite to the government and also to the authoritarian government itself, defending the Abertura and the Re-democratization .

Policy based network management of legacy network elements in next generation networks for voice services

Magister Scientiae - MSc / Telecommunication companies, service providers and large companies are now adapting converged multi-service Next Generation Networks (NGNs). Network management is shifting from managing Network Elements (NE) to managing services. This paradigm shift coincides with the rapid development of Quality of Service (QoS) protocols for IP networks. NEs and services are managed with Policy Based Network Management (PBNM) which is most concerned with managing services that require QoS using the Common Open Policy Service (COPS) Protocol. These services include Voice over IP (VoIP), video conferencing and video streaming. It follows that legacy NEs without support for QoS need to be replaced and/or excluded from the network. However, since most of these services run over IP, and legacy NEs easily supports IP, it may be unnecessary to throw away legacy NEs if it can be made to fit within a PBNM approach. Our approach enables an existing PBNM system to include legacy NEs in its management paradigm. The Proxy-Policy Enforcement Point (P-PEP) and Queuing Policy Enforcement Point (Q-PEP) can enforce some degree of traffic shaping on a gateway to the legacy portion of the network. The P-PEP utilises firewall techniques using the common legacy and contemporary NE management protocol Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) while the Q-PEP uses queuing techniques in the form Class Based Queuing (CBQ) and Random Early Discard (RED) for traffic control. / South Africa
