Naccache, Christian January 2018 (has links)

De Teilmann, Tobias January 2021 (has links)
On board the M/S Calmare Nyckel, during normal operation in open water. It isonly one of the generators, and the main engine in operation. At present, the mainengine on the Calmare Nyckel is not equipped with a shaft generator. In the event of a failure in the electricity producing generator, this results in ablackout that knocks out the manoeuvrability to the extent that the ship's rudderservo stops working together with the ship's bilge & fire pump. Should the ship'srudder servo shut down, this means that the ship must be maneuverered by handwith a manual steering pump, placed on the bridge.Navigation equipment, VHF and lanterns switch on and get their voltage from theship's UPS. The second generator that is on standby does not start automatically inthe event of a blackout but must be started locally and then switched on manually.During these minutes it takes to start another generator, the ship’s manoeuvrabilityis limited. The author has therefore been commissioned by Lars Fors at the University ofMaritime Studies to be given a project plan with intermediate goals for anemergency generator installation on the school ship Calmare Nyckel. Thesesubgoals have been answered and processed in accordance with laws andregulations for vessels in near coast shippingThe work is a complete plan for an installation of the emergency generator onCalmare Nyckel.

Hendricks, Mattias, Bergström Holm, Johan January 2020 (has links)
” Forsmark Kraftgrupp” needs to update their system for categorizing faults events inthe plant, both in the input stage and at a later stage when trend analysis and otherhistory analysis is to be done. The system that is being used today is built in the 1990sand has some apparent flaws that make it complicated to trend common faults andfollow up on production loss. The focus of this paper is to find a standardized and logic way to report fault eventsconnected to production loss. If implemented into a future tool it will simplifyoverseeing past events by searching on fault type and components. The literature study goes through basic theory on productions loss, the interestedparties, Swedish standardization, and a surrounding world analysis.Collection of data was made especially by interviewing the interested parties:maintenance, engineering and operation which is the plants internal divisions. In theinterviews with the different divisions, information and parameters important for afuture tool was sought for.The paper reached a solution proposal on how to categorize fault events at input stage. The proposal is presented in a tree structure that consists out of five different levels. The report ends with a discussion about proposals that are outside of the scope of thereport, followed by a concluding chapter summing up the process through which thetree structure has been developed.

Hacking your drone data

Gabrielsson, Jonas January 2021 (has links)
The last couple of years has seen a rapid growth in smart devices. The smart devices are exponentially gaining more popularity both as a complement to our daily lives in the form of IoT products aiding in our everyday tasks and as a way we communicate and work. An estimation of 75.44 billion devices will be connected to the internet by 2025. With the rapid development and normalization of IoT devices, questions regarding privacy has never been more important. This thesis focuses on privacy in relation to one of the most emerging technologies, drones.  Drones have been discussed frequently in both governmental and commercial sectors for its inevitable normalization in the airspace. Previously privacy and drones has been researched and discussed from the point of view of which drones are used to infringe on people’s privacy. This thesis explores privacy from another point of view, the view of the drone owner. By exploring privacy from the drone users’ point of view, this thesis shows the importance of better privacy measurements by proposing a conceptual model to existing popular privacy definitions. To investigate privacy in this context, a case has been conducted which proved and validated what kind of data is at risk of being hijacked. The thesis provides a conceptual model that aims to help commercial drone owners to analyze how privacy infringements can occur, why they could occur and how to account for them in the future. Furthermore, the thesis highlights the vulnerability that WIFI dependent devices poses with DDoS attacks. The findings of this thesis show that an infringement of privacy regarding commercial drones requires more clear privacy regulations and definitions, as well as highlighting privacy vulnerabilities in commercial drones.

A digital manual: To visualize and organize information trough a helpcenter

Inada Boberg, Mami January 2019 (has links)

Cresto Group AB - expect more : Räddningsprodukt - RP01

Issa, Ahmed, Bruzell, Daniel January 2020 (has links)

Säkerhetsrisker och utmaningar med att använda kommunikationsteknologin LoRaWAN som kabelersättare i distribuerade datorsystem / LoRaWAN as a cable replacement in remote systems - security risks and challenges

Karlsson, Magnus January 2020 (has links)
The Internet of Things (IoT) is revolutionizing the IT sector and it is predicted that 20 billion IoT devices will be seamlessly connected to provide information to 3 billion Internet users by the end of 2020. This development has led to an increased use of resource-stripped devices with long-range wireless connectivity. Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN) technologies are becoming very popular and are hitting a broad market. One of the most promising LPWAN technologies is Long range wide area networks (LoRaWAN). However, LoRaWAN suffers from several known vulnerabilities that should be considered before implementing a system using the technology. For example, The Swedish Transport Administration, as a use case provider, is interested in evaluating the possibility of an upgrade of their road weather information system from a wired infrastructure to a wireless implementation using LoRaWAN. A weather information system, with sensors measuring different weather related parameters, distributed over a wide area, is a perfect example of an application where LoRaWAN would be suitable in theory. The goal and purpose of this thesis is to evaluate how suitable LoRaWAN is to replace the wired infrastructure from a security point of view, and to find already known security vulnerabilities together with suggestions that should be known before implementing the system. To achieve this, information about well known security vulnerabilities and upgrades have been gathered from scientific databases such as IEEExplore, ScienceDirect and MDPI. The results indicates that there are some known vulnerabilities in the LoRaWAN join-procedure, roaming and device cloning. The results also show a few proposed solutions to the most prominent and well known of these vulnerabilities, such as an improved key management protocol and protection against device cloning. The thesis ends with a use case specific discussion about security vulnerabilities of LoRaWAN when implemented as in the suggested use case on road weather information.

Identification of failure modes to apply condition monitoring methods on critical components of a hydraulic stamping press machine

de Figueiredo Tomás, Diogo January 2020 (has links)
This thesis is the result of a four months internship in a company that aims to transform technology into value for industry. The industries face a wide range of engineering challenges. The requirements and competitiveness of the industry demands high dependability of the assets. During operations of hydraulic stamping presses, unexpected failures may happen, affecting the production and the overall equipment effectiveness, and therefore, the objectives of the company. It might have serious repercussions, both monetary and reputational, this last one normally difficult to recover from. That is the reason why it is important to find solutions which can prevent these situations to happen. One of the challenges with hydraulic press stamping machines is that there are multiple failure modes that affect the machine dependability. There is a big variety of sensor technologies available in the market, that can be used to monitor the health condition of the hydraulic stamping press machines, providing decision makers with reliable information to coordinate maintenance activities. However, it is required to the users to know the specific condition monitoring methods for each failure mode. The present thesis has the purpose to identify and propose strategies in order to leverage the dependability of hydraulic stamping press machines, to achieve the performance objectives. It serves also as base for the creation of future maintenance plans. The first step is to understand the system operation under study, and then identify failure modes that might happen in the asset. The next step is to select and suggest condition monitoring methods to monitor the machine’s failure modes. Based on this information, excellence in the planning of maintenance and production can be achieved. The Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) method and the Failure Modes, Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) were used in present thesis to assess failure modes, criticality and prioritize maintenance interventions. The thesis work presents condition monitoring methods for the analysed subsystems of the stamping press machine. The failure analysis of the subsystems and the proposed condition monitoring methods were based on the related literature and technical staff recommendation. How proposed condition monitoring methods can be complemented with further analysis is discussed. A qualitative approach was used to rank the selected subsystems and components based on their criticality. As a conclusion, the slide of the guide rail was considered the most critical component. The reason is that all the press operation is based on force and guiding precision.
