The aim of this thesis is to examine Giraudoux's ideas on war in Siegfried, a post-war play written in 1928 and in La Guerre de Troie n1aura pas lieu, a pre-war play written in 1935. This playwrightls ideas do not manifest themselves solely in the dialogues of the characters but a1so in their gestures and their visual expressions as we1l as in the stage decorations.
