The Relationship among Outsourcing Management and Outsourcing PerformanceHo, Mei-Ling 30 June 2008 (has links)
By means of collecting the outsourcing experiences of different companies for example, the main topic of the study is to discuss the relationship among outsourcing management (Commitment-Based, Productivity-Based, Complained-Based and Collaborative-Based ) and outsourcing performance and the confounding effect of outsourcing job value and uniqueness on the relationships among the above variables. We hope that the findings of this study can be of the references for the companies to implement the outsourcing.
The questionnaire survey was adopted for the study. The samples were collected through the staff of different companies who manage the outsourcing projects for the companies. There were 220 questionnaires totally being released, 101 questionnaires were returned and 76 of them were valid samples.
Through statistics analysis, the main results of the study are¡G
1. The Complained-Based and Productivity-Based are the most common ways for the companies to adopt in outsourcing management, and the Commitment-Based is the least way to be adopted to manage outsourcing, especially in the financial banking industry, we got such kind of findings. As for the outsourcing performance, almost all the companies we surveyed are satisfied with it and with no significant difference among different companies. And the different industries affect the value and uniqueness of outsourcing job, particularly, the value of outsourcing job of financial banking industry is higher than other industries.
2. The Collaborative-Based outsourcing management has positively correlations not only with outsourcing effectiveness but also with the overall outsourcing performance and affectes them in a positive way. At the same time, the collaborative-based management also affects outsourcing efficiency. And we also found that the Commitment-Based outsourcing management affects the outsourcing efficiency and the overall outsourcing performance in a negative way.
3. The value of outsourcing job has positive confounding effect on the relationship between the Collaborative-Based outsourcing management and the outsourcing efficiency. We found that as for the high value of outsourcing jobs, the companies that adopted more Collaborative-Based management resulted in more efficient outsourcing outcome.

Effekter av administrativ outsourcingIsaksson, Anders Unknown Date (has links)

THE OUTSOURCING OF LOGISTICAL ACTIVITIES : THE CASE OF GUINNESS GHANA BREWERIES LIMITEDDZOGBEWU, THYWILL January 2010 (has links)
ABSTRACT The study has revealed that Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited has been outsourcing it logistics activities more than four years. The rationale behind the outsourcing activities is to cut down cost and enjoy first class service from specialist using the most suitable, quick and reliable technology. The company has actually increased its revenue margin consistently for the past four years and has enjoyed other benefits like: timely delivery and overall quality improvement. Its logistics service providers have also enjoyed benefits like: consistent profit growth rate, transformation of superiority into competitive pricing through economics of scale, improvements of staff skills through efficient training and continuous exposure to new technologies and best practices in the industry. The main problem encountered by the logistics service providers is that they are not been paid on time. It also came to light that Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited have build a very good business relationship with its service providers which have enable it to maintain good logistics service providers and switch to a new one if the need arise. It was discovered that outsourcing logistics activities which is a contractual service has become relatively stable in the developed countries while it is a rapidly growing and emerging in developing countries like Ghana. It was noted that the most obvious reason behind outsourcing logistics activities is to provide very effective means of reducing costs, better services, improving operating efficiency, flexibility and getting access to new suitable technologies easily at a lower cost. Outsourcing, therefore, has increasingly becomes an important strategy that can significantly assist organizations to leverage their skills and resources to achieve greater competitiveness. However, there are risks of becoming over dependent on service providers. / E-mail : thydzo@yahoo.fr , 0233-240315605

ACCESSING RESOURCES IN A GLOBAL ECONOMY: THREE ESSAYS ON OUTSOURCING AND IMMIGRATIONRogers, KEITH 12 January 2009 (has links)
This thesis is a collection of three manuscripts. In the first manuscript I develop a general equilibrium model that explains the growth and maturation of outsourcing – an outsourcing lifecycle – based on industry learning and market feedback. When outsourcing starts, buyers lack the knowledge to develop effective contracts so they rely on relationships. As contract knowledge develops, contracts become stronger and eventually replace relationships as the primary form of governance and the market grows. Under contractual governance, continued strengthening of contracts benefits buyers. The size of the market determines whether suppliers benefit or suffer with increased contracts strength.
The second manuscript explores the design of an optimal skills-based immigrant selection system based. This system is based on two factors: a threshold in predicted-earnings that is used to determine whom to accept and reject, and a human-capital-based earnings regression for making error-minimizing predictions of immigrant success in the host labor market. We first show how to design a points system based on what we assume to be the optimal predicted-earnings threshold and the optimal prediction regression. We next develop a method for identifying the optimal threshold given the prediction regression. The method produces a “selection frontier” that dictates the options facing policy makers. The frontier shows the tradeoff between the average quality of admitted immigrants and the number of immigrants admitted. The frontier shifts out with improved accuracy in predicting earnings as well as with increases in the variation and average quality of the applicant pool. Finally, we show how the policy maker chooses the optimal selection system given the selection frontier.
The third manuscript demonstrates the feasibility of the optimal immigrant selection method by developing an illustrative points system. We also explore how the selection system can be improved by incorporating additional information such as country-of-origin characteristics and intended occupations. We discuss what our findings imply for the debate about the relative merits of points- and employment-based systems for selecting economic immigrants. / Thesis (Ph.D, Management) -- Queen's University, 2009-01-12 13:55:27.301
