Para isso, foi sintetizada uma série de compostos do tipo 3-Ari1-2α,4α-dimetil-6,7- exo-isopropilidenodioxi-8-oxabiciclo[3.2.1]oct-2-eno, ainda não descrita na literatura. Assim, a partir da ciclo adição [3+4] entre furano e o cation oxialilico gerado pelo tratamento da 2,4-dibromopentan-3-ona com NaI/Cu, sintetizou-se o 2α,4α-dimetil-8-oxabiciclo[3.2.l]oct-6-en-3-ona, convertido em duas etapas no 2α,4α-dimetil-6,7-exo-isopropilidenodioxi-8-oxabiciclo[3 .2. 1]octan-3-ona (acetonideo [4]). O tratamento desse composto com vários reagentes de Grignard e butil litio, seguido da desidratacao dos álcoois, levou a obtenção de oito arialquenos. A avaliação da atividade desses produtos foi feita em ensaios preliminares com plantas de Sorghum bicolor, Cucumis sativus e algumas espécies de plantas daninhas, aplicando-se uma dose fixa de 6,6 ppm do composto sintetizado. Os principais produtos com atividade herbicida foram os álcoois [11], [17] e [19], que inibiram, em alguns casos, até 100 % das espécies de plantas testadas. Estes resultados indicaram que os compostos avaliados constituem uma nova classe de compostos orgãnicos com potencial atividade herbicida, sendo justificáveis estudos mais aprofundados sobre eles. / Considering the increasing need of new chemical products for a rational and efficient control of weeds, it was conducted a research on new products provided with herbicide activity. To do so, it was synthesized a compound series of the 3-Aryl-2a,4a-dimethyl-6,7-exo-isopropylidenedioxy-8-oxabicyclo [3.2.1]oct-2-ene type, which weren’t described yet in the literature. From V cycloaddition [3+4] between furan and oxyallyl cation produced from 2,4- dibromopentan-3-one treatment with NaI/Cu synthesizing 2a,4a-dimethyl-8- oxabicyclo[3.2.1]oct-6-en-one converted over two stages in 2a,4a-dimethyl-6,7- exo-isopropylidenedioxy-8-oxabicyclo[3.2.1]octan-3-one [4]. The treatment of this compound using several Grignard and butyl lithium reagents followed by alcohol dehydratation led to obtention of eight arylalkenes. These product I activities were evaluated in preliminary assays with Sorghum bicolor and C ucumis sativus plants, and some weed species by applying a 6,6 ppm fixed dose of the synthesized compound. The main products showing and herbicide activity were the alcohols [l 1], [17], [19], which, in some cases, inhibited up to 100 the species of the tested plants. These results indicated that the evaluated compounds are a new class of organic compounds having a potential herbicide activity, thus justifying more detailed studies.

No presente trabalho foi sintetizada uma série de álcoois e alquenos derivados do 2α,4α-dimetil-8- oxabiciclo[3.2.1]oct-6-en-3-ona com potencial atividade herbicida, ainda não descrita na literatura. Esses compostos foram preparados, inicialmente, a partir da cicloadição [3+4] entre o furano e o cátion oxialílico gerado pelo tratamento da 2,4-dibromopentan-3-ona com NaI/Cu, levando à obtenção do 2α,4α-dimetil-8- oxabiciclo[3.2.1]oct-6-en-3-ona, convertido em duas etapas no 2α,4α-dimetil- 6,7-exo-isopropilidenodioxi-8-oxabiciclo[3.2.1]octan-3-ona. Como material de partida, esse acetonídeo foi utilizado no preparo de sete álcoois, que, por processo de desidratação, levaram à obtenção de cinco alquenos. A avaliação da atividade herbicida desses produtos foi feita em ensaios preliminares, sob condições de laboratório e em casa de vegetação, com plantas de sorgo (Sorghum vulgare L.), utilizando-se uma dose fixa de 5,5 ppm do composto sintetizado. Nesses bioensaios, o álcool 2α,4α-dimetil-6,7-exo-isopropilidenodioxi-8- oxabiciclo[3.2.1]octan-3-exo-ol e os alquenos 3-(2-fluorofenil)-2,4α-dimetil-6,7- exo-isopropilidenodioxi-8-oxabiciclo[3.2.1]oct-2-eno e 3-(3-fluorofenil)-2,4α- dime-til-6,7-exo-isopropilidenodioxi-8-oxabiciclo[3.2.1]oct-2-eno revelaram-se os mais ativos sobre o desenvolvimento da parte aérea das plantas de sorgo, enquanto sobre o sistema radicular os melhores potenciais herbicidas foram obtidos pelos três compostos anteriormente citados, que confirmaram seus efeitos fitotóxicos, e também pelos álcoois 2α,4α-dimetil-3-exo-(3-metoxifenil)-6,7-exo- isopropilideno-dioxi-8-oxabiciclo[3.2.1]octan-3-ol e 3-exo-butil-2α,4α-dimetil- 6,7-exo-isopropili-denodioxi-8-oxabiciclo[3.2.1]octan-3-ol e pelo alqueno 3- butil-2,4α-dimetil-6,7-exo-isopropilidenodioxi-8-oxabiciclo[3.2.1]oct-2-eno. É necessária a realização de novos ensaios, com outras espécies cultivadas e também com plantas daninhas, testando outras formulações e doses, a fim de se obter conclusão definitiva sobre o potencial herbicida dos novos compostos sintetizados. / The search for solving the weed control problem is a constant assignment of the chemical research. In the present study a series of alcohols and alkenes derived from 2α,4α-dimethyl-8-oxabicyclo[3.2.1]oct-6-en-3-one with potential herbicide activity which has not been described in the literature, was synthesized. Those compounds were initially prepared from cycloaddition [3+4] between furan and the oxyalyll cation generated from the treatment of 2,4- dibromopentane-3-one with NaI/Cu leading to the obtention of 2α,4α-dimethyl- 8-oxabicyclo[3.2.1]oct-6-en-3-one converted over two stages into 2α,4α- dimethyl-6,7-exo-isopropylidenodioxy-8-oxabicyclo[3.2.1]octan-3-one. As a starting material this acetonyd was used in preparing seven alcohols which led to the obtention of five alkenes by a dehydration process. The evaluation of these product herbicide activities was made during preliminary assays under laboratory and greenhouse conditions with sorghum plants (Sorghum vulgare L.) by using a 5.5 ppm fixed dose of the synthesized compound. In these bioassays the alcohol 2α,4α-dimethyl-6,7-exo-isopropylidenodioxy-8-oxabicylo[3.2.1]octan-3-exo-ol and the alkenes 3-(2-fluorophenyl)-2,4α-dimethyl-6,7-exo-isopropylidenodioxy- 8-oxabicyclo[3.2.1]oct-2-ene and 3-(3-fluorophenyl)-2,4α-dimethyl-6,7-exo- isopropylidenodioxy-8-oxabicyclo[3.2.1]oct-2-ene revealed to be the most active on the sorghum aerial part whereas the best herbicide potentials on the root system were obtained by the three previously cited compounds which confirmed their phytotoxic effects as well as by the alcohols 2α,4α-dimethyl-3-exo-(3- metoxyphenyl)-6,7-exo-isopropylidenodioxy-8-oxabicyclo[3.2.1]octan-3-ol and 3-exo-butyl-2α,4α-dimethyl-6,7-exo-isopropylidenodioxy-8-oxabicyclo[3.2.1]oct an-3-ol and by the alkene 3-butyl-2,4α-dimethyl-6,7-exo-isopropylidenodioxy-8- oxabicyclo[3.2.1]oct-2-ene. It is necessary that new assays be conducted with other growing species and weeds and also other formulas and doses should be tested in order to obtain a definitive conclusion about the herbicide potential of the new synthesized compounds.
