Odsíření práškového granulačního kotle K3 na Teplárně Olomouc / Desulphurization of pulverized coal bouler (dry bottom ash) in Teplarna Olomouc

Haluza, Jakub January 2012 (has links)
This master thesis deals with the feasibility studies desulphurization of powder granulation K3 boiler at Olomouc heating station. K3 boiler burns black energetic coal and after January 1st, 2016 will not meet new more strict emission limits. The theoretical part of the thesis charts usable desulphurization methods from which the semi-dry NID appears as the most appropriate one. In the practical part there is performed a stoichiometric calculation of the flue gas and the balance of raw materials and output products. The possibility of NID method usage is confirmed here. Next the annual operating cost of the desulfurization process is calculated and some NID systems already installed references are presented.

Vývoj techniky difúzního gradientu v tenkém filmu (DGT) pro stanoveni rtuti ve vodných systémech. / Development of Diffusive Gradients in Thin Films Technique for Determination of Mercury in Aquatic Systems

Szkandera, Roman January 2011 (has links)
The theoretical part of this doctoral thesis deals with determination of mercury and its species in aquatic systems. Special attention is paid to the use in situ sampling technique diffusive gradients in thin films technique (DGT) and its development. Current resin gels used for determination of mercury by DGT technique Duolite GT-73, Chelex-100 and Spheron-Thiol are described. Moreover, new types of resin gels including Iontosorb AV modified by imidazole or 6-mercaptopurine and commercially available titanium dioxide. Preparations of resin gels and their basic tests in model solution according to DGT Research are described. Mercury accumulation in relation to time and basic recovery test were tested and capacity of resins was determined. All tested resins meet the requirements of basic DGT Research tests and relative standard deviations of mercury in recovery tests were lower than 10 %. The sorption capacity of resins varied from 1,5 to 6 µmol.l-1 and decreased in following order: Duolite GT-73 > ISAV-IM > Chelex-100 > Spheron-Thiol > TiO2 > ISAV-MP. Mercury sorption on resins was investigated under conditions similar to those in natural waters. It was found that the ionic strength commonly occurring in natural waters does not affect the determination of mercury. The presence of chlorides significantly affects the determination of mercury using DGT with titanium dioxide and therefore this sorbent can not be recommended for the determination of mercury in sea waters. The accumulated amount of mercury, depending on the pH shows that all the sorbents can be used in natural waters with pH in the range form 4 to 8. Mercury sorption is most affected by the presence of humic acids, especially at ion-exchange resins containing other than thiol functional groups. The exception is titanium dioxide for which physical sorption of humic acid metal complexes is typical. Cadmium and copper in model solutions in the molar balance of the excess mostly influenced the sorption of mercury on Chelex-100 and Spheron-Thiol resins. After laboratory tests, the DGT units with studied sorbents were used for the determination of mercury in natural waters of South Moravia (Svratka, Jihlava and Svitava river). Mercury concentration determined using DGT units containing Duolite GT-73 resin was comparable to the total dissolved concentration of mercury in river water provided by direct determination using AAS technique. Order of magnitude smaller concentrations than the total dissolved mercury concentration were found using DGT containing Spheron-Thiol and ISAV-MP resins. These sorbents are probably able to capture only mercury present in the form of labile complexes. This can be used for speciation analysis if more DGT units with different resins are deployed together. Subtracting the measured DGT Spheron-Thiol or ISAV-MP concentrations from the DGT Duolite GT-73 concentration, information about the amount of mercury present in the form of stabile complexes can be obtained. The amount of mercury determined after application of DGT units containing ISAV-IM, Chelex 100 or TiO2 can probably represent the mercury fraction bound in even weaker complexes than fraction determined by Spheron-Thiol and ISAV-MP DGT.

Samočistící vlastnosti tenkých tištěných vrstev oxidu titaničitého / Self-cleaning Properties of Thin Printed Layers of Titanium Dioxide

Králová, Marcela January 2012 (has links)

Studium elektrochemické inzerce kationtů do oxidů přechodových kovů / Study of Electrochemical Insertion Cations to the Oxides of Transitive Metals

Svoboda, Vít January 2010 (has links)
Electrochromic devices are based on the intercalation processes to the active layer mostly WO3. The optical properties of active layer are changed by intercalation ions from the electrolyte. For that purpose are used Li ions. The mass of thin layer can be observed by the QCM method. This method is based on the changes of the resonance frequency of a quartz crystal resonator. The investigated substance is deposited on the surface of the resonator. Various metals (Pt, Au, Ag) and their compounds should be plated on the resonator. Most frequently, the resonators for the frequency 5,0 MHz are used. This frequency change is used for the detection of chemical changes of the electrode surface and is very sensitive.

Aktivity hemocytů plovatkovitých plžů a jejich změny způsobené nákazou trichobilharziemi / Lymnaeid snails: hemocyte activities and their changes caused by Trichobilharzia infections

Jindrová, Zuzana January 2013 (has links)
Molluscs as well as all other invertebrates rely on innate immune response only. Their internal defense system is capable of destroying most pathogens. However, there are some exceptions, e.g. some snails serve as intermediate hosts for some trematodes. Trematodes are able to develop inside these snails due to intervention in the snail internal defense system. The submitted thesis describes hemocyte activities of two lymnaeid snails, Lymnaea stagnalis a Radix lagotis, and the influence of Trichobilharzia regenti infection on R. lagotis hemocytes. Hemocytes of both species exposed to various chemicals produced different amounts of H2O2 and NO. The response varied between both lymnaeid species. The amount of circulating hemocytes was elevated in R. lagotis snails due to T. regenti infection. However, the infenction attenuated hemocyte activities monitored by us. Hemocyte basal NO production was decreased as well as phagocytosis of bacteria, cell adherence and pseudopodia formation. Toxicity of L. stagnalis plasma against T. regenti miracidia was also described. Mechanisms used by trematodes to interact with the snail internal defense system will help us to understand why one species is suitable for the develepment of the trematode whereas another closely related species kills it. Odolnost myokardu k ischemicko/reperfuznímu poškození - možné ochranné mechanizmy / Myocardial tolerance to ischemia/reperfusion injury - possible protective mechanisms

Alánová, Petra January 2015 (has links)
Ischemic heart disease is the leading cause of death and disability worldwide. The effects of ischemic heart disease are usually attributable to the detrimental effects of acute myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. The aim of the thesis was to contribute to current effort to clarify the basis of mechanisms that could save the heart from I/R injury. The whole thesis is based on four studies; while the first three are published, the fourth one has been under revision. In the first study, we proved the involvement of nitric oxide (NO) in the cardioprotective mechanism of chronic hypoxia (CH). We described that exogenously increased availability of NO as well as inhibition of phosphodiesterase type 5 led to increased myocardial tolerance of normoxic and chronically hypoxic rats. The effects of both interventions were not additive, suggesting that NO is included in cardioprotective signaling of CH. Second study continued in investigating molecular mechanisms underlying cardioprotection induced by CH. We showed that infarct size-limiting effect of adaptation to CH was accompanied by increased myocardial concentration of tumor-necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and TNF-α receptor R2. In the third study, we examined the effect of dexrazoxane (DEX), the only clinically approved drug against...

Úloha Rho-kinázové signální dráhy v regulaci krevního tlaku u normotenzních a hypertenzních potkanů / The role of Rho-kinase signaling pathway in the regulation of blood pressure

Brunová, Aneta January 2015 (has links)
Calcium sensitization represents a mechanism that enables vascular smooth muscle cells to change the sensitivity of the contractile apparatus to intracellular calcium The aim of this study was to determine to what extent is calcium sensitization modulated by the renin- angiotensin system (RAS), sympathetic nervous system (SNS), nitric oxide (NO) and prostanoids produced by cyclooxygenase (COX). For this purpose we studied the effects of acute and chronic blockade of particular systems on blood pressure changes elicited in conscious normotensive rats by administration of Rho-kinase inhibitor fasudil. Adult male chronically cannulated Wistar rats were used in all experiments. Main findings of this study are as follow: 1) Decrease of blood pressure elicited by Rho-kinase inhibition was enhanced under the conditions of acute NOS inhibition. Inhibition of NOS was shown to have a bigger effect than COX inhibition (this was confirmed under the conditions of acute RAS and SNS inhibition as well). These findings are in agreement with the hypothesis that NO exerts a suppressive effect on calcium sensitization. 2) Chronic NOS inhibition caused hypertension characterized by a more pronounced blood pressure lowering after Rho-kinase inhibition in comparison with control. NO chronically suppresses the calcium...

Relaxivita magnetických nanočástic oxidů železa obsahujících diamagnetické kationty / Relaxivity of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles containing diamagnetic cations

Kubíčková, Lenka January 2017 (has links)
Magnetic nanoparticles have received extensive attention in the biomedical research, e.g. as prospective contrast agents for T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging. The ability of a contrast agent to enhance the relaxation rate of 1 H in its vicinity is quantified by relaxivity. The main aim of this thesis is to evaluate the transversal re- laxivity of ε-Fe2−x Alx O3 nanoparticles coated with amorphous silica or citrate - its dependence on external magnetic field, temperature and thickness of silica coating - by means of nuclear magnetic resonance. The aluminium content x = 0.23(1) was determined from XRF, the material was further characterised by XRPD, Möss- bauer spectroscopy, DLS, TEM and magnetic measurements. The size of magnetic cores was ∼ 21 nm, the thickness of silica coating ∼ 6,10,17 and 21 nm. Magne- tization of the ε-Fe2−x Alx O3 nanoparticles increased by ∼ 30 % when compared to ε-Fe2O3. The saturating dependence of relaxivity on external magnetic field and on the linear decrease with increase of thickness of silica coating contravene the theo- retical model of motional averaging regime (MAR); nevertheless, the temperature dependence acquired in 0.47 T and 11.75 T may be explained by MAR. In compari- son to ε-Fe2O3 nanoparticles, the relaxivity of examined samples was higher for par-...
