Bibliography: leaves 190-212. This thesis reports on the results of 3 glasshouse and 3 field experiments. The glasshouse experiments measure the effects of depth of placement and level of phosphorus (P) on the growth of field peas (Pisum sativum L. cv. Alma). The results of all the experiments suggest that placing P fertiliser 4-5 cm below the seed of field pea crops will be beneficial in terms of nodulation, P uptake, grain yield and grain P concentration.

The blog has become relevant in the educational scenario since it furthers improvement of knowledge and is a facilitating/mediating learning resource due to the fact that it includes specific factors such as: it does not need the skill of programming language; it allows the free hosting of some sites; it has great interacting capacity concerning visitors and the person who manages it. Availing itself of its educational importance, a program proposed and coordinated by the Board of Education of Minas Gerais State, called Peas Juventude (Educational Program for Providing Care for Youth) avails itself of some blogs to make its actions public, in which each state teaching institution presents and organizes its own blog when it integrates itself into the project. The research was based on a qualitative approach showing a case study in which one aims at analyzing the Peas Juventude within one of the state teaching institutions of Minas Gerais State, thus including the dynamics of blogs as spaces for sharing ideas within society, besides systematizing the activities developed in the project and made public in the blog at issue. To collect data one also used questionnaires filled in by those participating in it and semi-structured interviews held with its coordinator Such data allowed us to conclude that the blog has indeed become an important media reporting information, communication, integration, and empowerment, earning recognition on the part of teachers and students as a means used to share knowledge and to foster interaction among those involved with it, with promising prospects for the teaching-learning process / A presente dissertação é resultado de pesquisa desenvolvida no Programa de Mestrado em Educação da Universidade do Oeste Paulista, linha de pesquisa Formação e Prática Pedagógica do Profissional Docente. O blog ganha importância no cenário educacional aprimorando o conhecimento e apresentando-se como um recurso facilitador/mediador da aprendizagem pelo fato de possuir fatores que lhe são específicos como: dispensar o conhecimento da linguagem de programação; permitir a hospedagem gratuita em alguns sites; possuir grande capacidade de interação entre visitantes e quem administra o blog. Valendo-se da importância educacional do blog, um programa proposto e coordenado pela Secretaria de Estado da Educação de Minas Gerais, intitulado Peas Juventude (Programa Educacional de Atenção ao Jovem) utiliza-se de um conjunto de blogs para divulgar suas ações, no qual cada instituição estadual de ensino apresenta e organiza seu blog, ao integrar o projeto. A pesquisa contou com uma abordagem qualitativa, com estudo de caso, cujo objetivo foi analisar o blog do Projeto Peas Juventude, no âmbito de uma das instituições da rede estadual de ensino de Minas Gerais, compreendendo, dessa forma, a dinâmica dos blogs como espaços de socialização de ideias, além de sistematizar as atividades desenvolvidas no projeto e divulgadas no referido blog. Utilizou-se, também, para a coleta de dados, questionários, aplicados aos participantes, e uma entrevista semiestruturada realizada com o coordenador. Os dados obtidos permitiram concluir que o blog, de fato, tem se revelado uma importante mídia promotora de informação, comunicação, integração e capacitação, sendo reconhecido por professores e alunos como meio de promover conhecimento e interação entre os envolvidos, com possibilidades promissoras no processo ensino-aprendizagem
