Projektové riadenie vo vybranej spoločnosti / Project management in a selected corporation

The aim of the dissertation is to analyze the project management processes in a specific corporation from the point of view of a selected department. The introduction is dedicated to a closer view on the definition of the project. The following section, the presentation of the individual methodologies -- IPMA, PMBoK and PRINCE2 along with their comparison, is a knowledge-based input for the practical section. The introduction of the practical section focuses on the explanation of the project's origin, its scope and benefits. The project management is subsequently described within its life cycle. Each phase is concluded with a short chapter which summarizes the monitored process and contains a recommendation for improvements in the company's management. The conclusion is a personal summary of the project operation as it is and the project management in the selected department along with major points that would be convenient to implement.

Found differences will be the baseline for new proposals that should make the project management more efficient by cost and time savings. These proposals are intended to rise the level of client‘s satisafacion, which would lead to the possibility of receiving higher volumes of new projects.

The thesis is focused on analysis and comparison of the company's internal project methodology and official project methodology PRINCE2. This thesis aims to evaluate which of the methodologies is more suitable for management of projects in Ahold. A comparative qualitative analysis is used for the comparison of the project methodologies. The analysis is mainly focused on comparison of project phases, processes and documents. Furthermore concrete project is used to substantiate how each of these project methodologies would influence its realization. Comparing internal methodology and PRINCE2 methodology it was found that the internal project methodology that respects the specifics of Ahold is better for project management than official methodology PRINCE2.

Based on the analysis of both methodologies, there are several company's methodology enhancements proposed to drive company's effectiveness improvements.

The thesis is focused on Project Management issues, specifically on Project lifecycle in the Československá obchodní banka a.s. After a brief introduction of the company, it describes the organizational structure and the existing Project lifecycle, which is applied in the company. This state is analyzed and at the end of each phase there are drawn identified weak points. Based on an analysis and using theoretical knowledge of international standards and methodologies of Project Management is designed an own draft proposal of the Project lifecycle project, including input and output documents, RACI matrix and process model for each stage. After evaluation of the own solution by project managers there is created a set of proposals and other recommendations.

The objective of this diploma thesis is to design a proposal for managing projects in small and mid-sized companies that will be part of reference Model of Business Informatics MBI. MBI is a reference model for business IT, which is being developed by Department of Information Technologies at the University of Economics in Prague. MBI contains best practices in combination with theoretical background. The proposal includes prepared document templates ready to use in project management. This thesis also compares well-known and most widely used project management standards. The theoretical part is focused on the most widely used project management standards and methodologies. First chapter compares PMBOK, ICB and PRINCE2. This chapter is focused on the most important characteristics, used approaches and differences of these standards. Next chapter is closely focused on PRINCE2 described in terms of defined processes. In the practical part of this diploma thesis is a proposal for managing projects in small and mid-sized companies. The proposal takes the form of tables that matches the MBI model structure. This proposal is available on MBI website and is ready to use in practice. The theoretical part of this thesis is mainly based on the official publications and information from official websites of companies focused on project management. Practical part of this thesis is based on theoretical and practical experience. The usability of the results is evaluated in conclusion.

The goal of Master's thesis is analysis of suitability of Unicorn Universe service, which is operated by Unicorn Company, for implementation of PRINCE2 project management methodology. Theoretical and Methodological part of Master's thesis includes description of PRINCE2 methodology and description of methods, which are used for requirements analysis and analysis of Unicorn Universe service. The analysis of Unicorn Universe service confirmed that this service is suitable for implementation of PRINCE2 methodology. This suitability is also proven by implementation of chosen part of PRINCE2 methodology. The Master's thesis recommends the implementation of PRINCE2 methodology to Unicorn Universe service. There are estimated economical and non-economical benefits, which are brought by this implementation to Unicorn and Unicorn its clients.

The diploma thesis Activating methods in business education is focused at training Prince project management for the company Symphera. The aim is to create methods for activation of Prince2 training and incorporate them into new methodologies of training. In the theoretical part we will introduce various activating methods. We will explain what they mean and what training methods are used within them. In the part Creation of activation methods we will describe what was the process of working on the inclusion of activating methods in the training course of Prince2 project methodology. We will review the selection and subsequent formation of individual methods. The aim of comparing the success of the course is to determine whether students who have completed a course of activating methods achieve better test results than those who completed the course the classic method.
