Ochrana obyvatelstva v sociálním zařízení s velkým počtem osob / Protecting the population in a social care institution with a large number of peopleKOLÁŘOVÁ, Veronika January 2015 (has links)
Thesis topic is "Protecting the population in a social care institution with a large number of people". The theoretical part deals with issues of self-help and simple human assistance perception, which is a cornerstone of protecting the population. It is important to realize that the experience and the memory makes us ready and durable, but also vulnerable and fearful, and that prevention and preparedness are not identical. The thesis describes the history of the civil protection and its current status. These issues are constantly evolving and it is necessary to constantly respond to current threats not only in the area of law-making, but also preventatively and practically. The aim of the thesis is to identify the readiness of the staff in the Home for the elderly in Blatná to a possible outbreak of an emergency or crisis situation. The result of this thesis is to design measures to improve the readiness of personnel in social care institutions with applications for the Home for the elderly in Blatná. To clarify the objectives of the thesis a questionnaire construction was used focused on finding out the level of awareness of the personnel in the field of civil protection. Office staff, technical support, nursing and health care personnel have participated in the research. The research was conducted in June 2015. Collected data are sorted in the chapter "Results" and the results of these investigations are clearly displayed using graphs. The questionnaires were evaluated by descriptive and mathematical statistics. After evaluating the results of the level of awareness of the personnel in the field of protecting the population and after a consultation with the management of the Home for the elderly, a set of measures has been suggested and implemented to improve awareness using presentation. Preparedness and awareness of the staff in the Home for the elderly in Blatná to emergency and crisis situations, identified by questionnaire research was only partial, according to the documents related to protection of the population, and its level should be increased. The thesis can be an inspiration to the desired upgrade of the improving the preparedness of the personnel in the area of civil protection in social care institutions and to desirable change of the inappropriate name of the document dealing with emergency and crisis situations in the Home for the elderly in Blatná. Updates proposal and recommended development of the document are also parts of the thesis. The thesis also suggests measures to deal with the possible emergence of a fire in the clients' kitchenette. By a verification of information obtained from the presentation, which has been held in the Home for the elderly in Blatná in order to increase the level of personnel awareness of the people in the field of civil protection, it was found by identical questionnaires that staff awareness in the social care institution increased very positively. The readiness of social care institution for different emergencies is a very important factor in the managing these situations. By managing or mismanaging one event people are going to manage or mismanage following events.

Reaching for sustainability: ecological modernisation and environmetal justice in South African energy policy and practiceLong, Dianne Patience January 2017 (has links)
A Dissertation submitted to the Faculty of Humanities University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg in fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
April 2017 / Sustainable development is one of the major discourses of the twenty first century. In many instances sustainable development has been synonymous with the discourse of ecological modernisation. Ecological modernisation, as a discourse, has been proposed as an entreating means to reach the ideal of development that is sustainable, but has by and large only been tested within developed nations. There is, however, a prominent academic debate centred on the potential social and environmental justice concerns that may emanate from the promotion of ecological modernisation in environmental policy. This research project aimed to understand the degree to which ecological modernisation has been embraced in South Africa, and the environmental justice implications of this adoption. This was in an attempt to build an environmental justice policy framework for ecological modernisation in a bid to address environmental justice concerns. South African energy policy and practice was investigated in order to do this. Civil society hold an esteemed position in ecological modernisation, and as such in-depth, semi-structured interviews were conducted with a number of civil society activists who are involved in a range of campaigns for environmental justice. Their insights and solutions to potential environmental justice concerns that would result from using ecological modernisation were investigated. This was done in an attempt to build a list of environmental justice principles that can possibly be used to inform policies based on ecological modernisation in order to ensure just development. These criteria address the role of government, the role of society at large, as well as industry, and for the most part seek to understand if the disparate power dynamics that exist amongst these three actors can potentially be addressed. South African energy policies were analysed for evidence of these justice principles. It was found that South African energy policies do not address environmental justice in any measure that would truly allow for justice to be put into the practice of governing the environment. Therefore, by incorporating these environmental justice principles into ecological modernisation, ecological modernisation can potentially be stronger in approach to sustainable development than it presently is. / MT 2018

MODELLI DI RIFLESSIONE PEDAGOGICA SULL'AMBIENTE NELLE CULTURE ANGLOSASSONIPLODARI, ELENA 15 March 2010 (has links)
The pedagogical reflection on environment is a complex field of study, connoted by many visions and interconnections with other branches of research on environmental issues. The choice to focus my attention on some theoretical positions arisen in American, British and Australian contexts is linked to the will to find emblematic roots of environmental education in western cultures (first part of the work).
The second part of the dissertation is an overview of some recent research strands of the pedagogical reflection on environmental issues. Human responsibility towards natural resources puts human beings at the core of education and calls for active involvement in change and creativity to imagine new scenarios. The ability to transcend the immediacy of space and time boundaries and the limits of development models implemented so far requires that everyone involved in education should commit themselves to environmental protection and social justice with hope.

Křesťanský pohled na etickou problematiku v zemědělství / Christian view of ethical issues in agricultureJelínek, Pavel January 2021 (has links)
Pavel Jelínek Title of the thesis: A Christian view of ethical issues in agriculture Abstract: The work deals with the ethical issues of Czech agriculture. With the help of some indicators from the field of politics and sociology, the situation of Czech farmers is characterized, which can influence their ethical decisions. There are several facts that appear to be ethically problematic and require a certain position. Based on the analysis of some biblical texts and reflections on the relevant ecclesiastical documents, appropriate Christian attitudes are sought, with which it is possible to approach agriculture. The aim of the thesis is to indicate the contribution of the Christian attitude to ethical issues in agriculture, to design such an ethical orientation that will best correspond to Christian teaching in the context of current ethical dilemmas and to think about how to apply this orientation in practice. Keywords: Ethics in agriculture, social teaching of the church, soil protection, food production, environment, Czech agriculture
