The Design Analysis and Experimental Investigation on Building Energy Conservation

Lee, Ching-Nan 15 May 2002 (has links)
The theme of building energy conservation emphasizes not only on saving energy, but also on the comfort and safety of the theraml environment. In other words, it provides energy-saving function under the percussion of providing a safe, healthy, and comfortable thermal environment. This paper based its argument on the theory of the solar radiation. This paper identified the external factors that influence the solar radiation in relation to the natural movements of the Sun and Earth. It used computer programs to identify the location of each city and the position of the Sun at any given time. It also simulated the situation under which the shadow of the building changed, and analyzed the effect of the sun-blocking facilities of the building on indoor lighting. Furthermore, the author of this paper composed the sun radiation chart of Kaoshiung area to test the accuracy of the full-scale sun radiation experiment at NSYSU Lab. The accuracy of the experiment reached over 98%, which served as an important foundation for the calculation of the ENVLOAD value. Moreover, based on the computer simulation of the energy consumption on building envelope , this paper not only provided the ENVLOAD value, but also the evaluation of the sensitivity of the energy consumption on building envelope. Finally, this paper served as an important base for the ENVLOAD value of one specific building (Building N) in mid-Taiwan. The experiment on Building N found that the installation of horizontal external sunshades and light-gray blinds as internal sunshades saved 42% energy than the traditional curtain wall buildings. This result further demonstrated of the energy savings effect experimentally. Base on systematic analysis and full-scale experiments, this paper proposed the best energy saving model for Building N under the weather condition at Taichung. This model not only satisfied our current legislation for energy saving construction, but also provided a thermal comfortable environment. This paper contributes greatly to the field of building energy conservation design. Furthermore, this study was carried out under the local weather condition of Taiwan, which contributed significantly as a criteria for further regulation and modification of the ENVOLOAD value in Taiwan in the future.

THE VIDEO SYSTEM OF LAUNCH VEHICLE

Xiangwu, Gao, Juan, Lin, Zhengguang, He 10 1900 (has links)
ITC/USA 2006 Conference Proceedings / The Forty-Second Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 23-26, 2006 / Town and Country Resort & Convention Center, San Diego, California / XX launch vehicle has been flying onboard video system which includes video cameras, data compression devices and channel switch device for the second Chinese spaceflight. The camera is a PAL analog camera that been sampled and compressed by compression device. The compressed digital video data is combined with telemetry data into the telemetry radio channel. Lighting is provided by sunlight, or a light has been equipped when sunlight is unavailable. IRIG-B timing is used to correlate the video with other vehicle telemetry. The video system’s influences to the vehicle flight have been decreased to minimum.

Implementation of Sensor and Communication Technology for PAL Products

Månsson, Max, Lidbeck, Erik January 2020 (has links)
DD Company AB wanted to improve their existing products the football training rebounding board PAL and their PAL Cones. Their suggested solution was to create an application which communicates with PAL and PAL Cones via Bluetooth. The goal was to have an app which can record how many times PAL has been hit during a set time span and control PAL Cones to indicate to the player to step on a specific cone. PAL's problem was solved by on it place a base unit made of an accelerometer to sense impacts, a BLE112 Bluetooth module to communicate over Bluetooth and an Arduino UNO for reading the accelerometer and signal the Bluetooth module which transmits a hit counter over Bluetooth to the mobile application. The PAL Cone uses only the BLE112, a LED, a button and a button cell battery to keep the size to a minimum. The base unit is able to filter the initial impact from the residual vibrations and sends a updating hit counter over a Bluetooth connection to the mobile application. The mobile application can control the counter by sending commands to the base unit. After a hit the mobile application can activate a cone to light up and receives feedback when a player steps on the specified cone.

A shader based approach to painterly rendering

Pal, Kaushik 15 November 2004 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to develop a texture-based painterly shader that would render computer generated objects or scenes with strokes that are visually similar to paint media like watercolor, oil paint or dry media such as crayons, chalk, et cetera. This method would need an input scene in the form of three dimensional polygonal or NURBS meshes. While the structure of the meshes and the lighting in the scene would both play a crucial role in the final appearance of the scene, the painterly look will be imparted through a shader. This method, therefore, is essentially a rendering technique. Several modifiable parameters in the shader gives the user artistic freedom while overall introducing some amount of automation in the painterly rendering process.

Synkroniserad insamling av videoström från flera analoga källor / Synchronized collection of video stream from multiple analog sources

Tägt, Daniel, Hansson, Jonny January 2013 (has links)

Structure and mode of action of the TolA-TolB complex from Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Holmes, Peter January 2016 (has links)
Protein-protein interactions (PPIs) across the cell envelope of Gram-negative bacteria are critical for mediating signal transduction pathways that underpin cellular homeostasis. The Ton and Tol Pal systems are two conserved, ancestrally related protein networks that are also required for bacterial pathogenesis. Both Ton and Tol-Pal traverse the periplasm to effect different functions at the outer membrane (OM). Tol-Pal is composed of a homologous complex of three inner membrane proteins, TolQ-TolR-TolA (linked to proton motive force) and two additional periplasmic proteins TolB and Pal. The physiological role of the Tol-Pal system is to stabilise the OM, however the mechanism involved is unknown. TolA is however known to form a crucial protein-protein interaction via its C-terminus with the disordered N-terminus of TolB. Prior to this thesis, determination of the molecular features underlying a protein-protein complex between TolA and an endogenous binding partner TolB had never been accomplished. In this work, I describe the first structure comprising the TolA-TolB complex from Gram negative bacteria. The structure of this complex was determined from Pseudomonas aeruginosa by solution NMR spectroscopy. I determined the interaction between P. aeruginosa TolA and a TolB N terminal peptide to be relatively weak using fluorescence anisotropy. I found that TolB interacts with TolA through an analogous mechanism to that seen in TonB-dependent transporters. Based on these studies and bioinformatics analyses, I hypothesize that the evolutionary resilience of the Tol-Pal system to external pressures is contingent on the preservation of the TolA-TolB interface. Structure-based mutations within the TolA-TolB complex were also evaluated for their effect on in vivo function of the Tol-Pal complex and impact on complex formation in vitro. Taken together, the results demonstrate that protein networks which transduce energy to the OM through PMF-dependent systems in bacterial cells appear to follow a common β-strand augmentation mechanism.

Valas, Jiří January 2009 (has links)
This diploma thesis describes the main causes of the automotive crisis in the first half of 2009 and their influence on this industry in the world. It also shows the effort of selected countries to fight these consequences and to support the demand for cars. One section is also devoted to situation in Czech Republic and to one of the Czech supplier to OEM car manufacturers.
