The Empirical Research of Taiwanese Enterprises¡¦ HRM Policy in accordance to China¡¦s Economic Transition.

Chen-Huang, Hisu-Hsueh 09 September 2011 (has links)
Since Mainland China opened its market, its strengths and low-cost labor appeals to foreign investors and manufacturers, resulting in rapid growth of overall economics. Several investment factors in Taiwan, including rising land price due to economic growth, rising costs of labor, and shortage of labor force, drive Taiwanese firms to base manufacturing plants in Mainland China because of its cheap labor and massive scale of labor force. The aim of this research is to investigate the way in which human resource department adjusts its strategy as a part of enterprise transformation from labor orientation to marketing orientation under the influences of China¡¦s policy of economic transformation. The case study in this research is an outstanding enterprise, having three oversea plants, in southern Taiwan. The analysis and research results are shown as follows. (1) The introduction of the Labor Contract Law of the People¡¦s Republic of China and the Social Insurance Law of the People¡¦s Republic of China brings more disadvantages than benefits to enterprises. The laws improve Chinese laborers¡¦ basic rights at the expense of increasing management risks and labor management costs from Taiwanese firms. (2) Under the influences of global economic crisis, policies to downsize organization structure lead to a loss of talents, but enterprises should enhance its education training, reinforce organizational culture and vision, and speeding up the process of localizing talents. (3) Propelling domestic demand is a policy to sustain economic growth; however, as farmers¡¦ income increases, it is more difficult for enterprises to recruit laborers. Enterprises should be cautious on designing long-term plans of human resources. (4) The Foxconn incident is not an individual case. It shows that an enterprise should provide material assurance as well as spiritual concerns to employees. The butterfly effect of pay raise will speed up enterprise transformation and reach the long-term goal of paralleling Chinese plants to global market. (5) It is crucial for enterprises to provide material assistance to expatriates as well as mental well-being of the employees and the families.

The Research of Negotiation between the Government of People¡¦s Republic China (PRC) and the Government of Tibet in Exile

Hsieh, Ming-Chang 02 August 2004 (has links)
The negotiation between the government of PRC and the government of Tibet in exile is a kind of ¡§Do more with less¡¨ and ¡§Asymmetric Power Structure¡¨. The government of Tibet in exile is in Dharamsala, northern India could not have long-term fight with PRC without its own land, forces and economic power. Although the ¡§total structure power¡¨ of the government of Tibet in exile is less than PRC, it uses the title of Dalai Lama who is the winner of Nobel Peace Prize to strengthen its power and internationalize the problem of Tibet successfully. Therefore, whole world take care of the problem of Tibet and give PRC the pressure of negotiating. In fact, the PRC¡¦s government could solve the problem of Tibet with the strong hand because of its greater aggregate national strength. However, in order to change PRC¡¦s international country image and lower the cost of governing Tibet, it begins to connect with the government of Tibet in exile and tries to solve the problem of Tibet by negotiating since 1979. On one hand PRC¡¦s government insists on tough attitude, on the other hand both sides have different opinions on ¡§Tibet Independence¡¨ and ¡§Tibet Autonomy¡¨, so the negotiation reaches a deadlock after negotiating 20 years. In chapter 1, besides describing my research motive, goals, limits, methods and etc, I also introduce the general concepts and some articles of negotiation. I discuss the PRC¡¦s strategy and style of debating in chapter 2. I introduce the background of Tibet¡¦s history, culture, religion, status, geography and the negotiation since 1950 in chapter 3. Chapter 4 and 5, I explain the deadlock between the government of PRC and the government of Tibet in exile and analysis strategies and attitudes of both sides. Chapter 6, I conclude the whole thesis and give some suggestions either on the negotiation between the government of PRC and the government of Tibet in exile or the negotiation between the government of PRC and the government of Republic of China (ROC).

No. of bitstreams: 1 PDF - Conrado Ottoboni Baggio.pdf: 2112658 bytes, checksum: f3cbb6f9b07c84a81dc573f08967ac07 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-06-16 / CAPES / This master thesis presents the relations between the People´s Republic of China (PRC) and the African states through the case of the Republic of Sudan. Aiming at identifying the reasons and methods behind the current Chinese interactions with the African continent a bibliographical and documental research is made highlighting the practical examples of this relation. In the first chapter a historical panorama of the Sino-African relations since the 1950´s until the decade of the 2010´s is presented, establishing a connection between the changes occurred inside and with the PRC and the African continent, and the existing dynamics among the two actors. In the second chapter the political and economical trajectory of the region where the Sudanese state – and later South Sudan - is located is presented showing the country´s colonial past, the challenges in building a nation from such distinct people and cultures and its vulnerability before the great powers. The third chapter focus on the involvement of the PRC with Sudan, providing a closer and singular perspective about how the Asian power handled other developing countries in the past and how it´s doing so lately. The conclusion affirms that the intense participation of the PRC in peace missions in Sudan and South Sudan and the demonstrations of concern regarding Human Rights are derivative from both the need imposed by the growing contact with the internal instabilities of these countries and also the desire to present itself as a responsible state inside the international system, considering that the PRC performance towards Sudan exemplifies the country´s a broader involvement with African states.
