Datações radiométricas posteriores sugerem a existência de duas unidades de basaltos alcalinos intrusivas nos toleíticos e em tufos. Uma dessas, a série 3, apresenta todavia evidências de intemperismo em seu topo. No presente trabalho foram feitas análises químicas para os elementos maiores e os traços Ni, Co, Cu, Zn, Li e Be, além de determinações mineralógicas por difratometria de raios - x e microscopia óptica, objetivando a caracterização mineralógica e química dos horizontes de imperismo da sondagem e de possíveis efeitos de diferenciação primária nas unidades consideradas intrusivas. A associação comum de hematita, montmorilonita e de fragmentos de quartzo nos horizontes de intemperismo, assim como o aumento nos conteúdos de Ni, Co, Cu, H2O, Fe2O3 e o decréscimo de Li, Be, FeO, MgO, CaO, da base para o topo, na série 3, mostra que esta unidade esteve exposta á superfície, não podendo ser considerada intrusiva. A outra Unidade, na série 5, apresenta e vidências de uma diferenciação gravitativa incipiente, mas não mostra variações granulométricas significativas. Apresenta, por outro lado, textura amigdaloidal no topo, sugerindo também uma natureza extrusiva. / In a drill hole of 450m made in the central part of the volcanic complex Vogelsberg, West Germany many authors found an alternating sequence of alkali olivinbasalts and tholeiites, consisting of 7 series with a total of 293m. Radiometric age dating suggests that two of the alkali olivinbasalts are intrusive. One of them, serie 3, however shows traces of weathering on its surface. The present study includes chemical analyses of major and trace elements (Ni, Co, Cu, Zn, Li and Be) as well as mineralogical investigation by means of X-ray diffraction and optial methods. The objective of these analyses was the chemical and mineralogical characterization of the weathering horizons and of the possible effects of differentiation in the units considered intrusive. The commom association of haematite, montmorillonite and quartz fragments in the weathered horizons, as well as the increase of Ni, Co, Cu, H2O and Fe2O3 and the decrease of Li, Be, FeO, MgO and CaO from the bottom to the top of one of the "intrusive units" in serie 3, shows that this unit was exposed to the earth's surface and therefore cannot be considered intrusive. The other alkali olivinbasalt in serie 5 shows incipient gravitative differentiation effects but witho ut significant textural variations. On the other hand there is amigdaloidal texture on its top suggesting also an extrusive nature. / An einer 450m tiefen Bohrung im vulkanischen Komplex Vogelsberg, Bundesrepublik Deutschland, wurde von mehreren Autoren eine Wech-selfolge von Alkali-Olivinbasalten und Tholeiiten beschrieben. Die Abfolge der Basalte in der Bohrung besteht aus 7 Serien mit einer Gesamtmãchtigkeit von 293m. Nach radiometrischen Altersbe-stimmungen wurden davon 2 Alkali-Olivinbasalteinheiten als intru siv gedeutet. Eine dieser Einheiten, die Serie 3, weist jedoch Verwitterungserscheinungen am Hangenden auf. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurden Haupt- und Spurenelemente(Ni, Co, Cu, Zn, Li und Be) chemisch analysiert und die mineralogische Zusammensetzung optisch und rfttgenographisch bestimmt mit dem Ziel, mõgliche Verwitterungshorizonte zu charakterisieren und von primãren Differenziationseffekten in " intrusiven Einheiten " zu unterscheiden. Die Vergesellschaftung von Haematit, Montmorillonit und Quarz-Gerõllen in den verwitterten Horizonten zusammen mit einer Zu-nhame von Ni, Co, Cu, H2O und Fe2O3 und einer entsprechenden Abnahme von Li, Be, FeO, MgO und CaO von Liegenden bis zum Hangen den in der Serie 3 zeigt, dass diese Einheit Verwitterungsein - flüssen an der Erdoberflãche ausgesetzt war und deshalb nicht als intrusiv gedeutet werden kann. Die andere Einheit in Serie 5 zeigt beginnende Gravitationserscheinungen jedoch ohne bedeutsame granulometrische Variationen. Sie weist andererseits Mandei struktur am Hangenden auf, welches eine Deutung ais ebenfalls extrusiv nahe legt.
