Les interprètes face à la Sonate en si mineur de Liszt / The pianists in front of Liszt's Sonata in B minor

Notre recherche porte sur une analyse comparative des interprétations de la Sonate en si mineur de Liszt. Nous avons analysé vingt-cinq enregistrements de pianistes regroupés en cinq écoles :hongroise, française, russe, américaine et allemande. Nous avons comparé les déviations des interprètes par rapport à la partition et les divergences entre les différentes interprétations, en sélectionnant sept paramètres qui nous ont permis de caractériser chaque interprétation. Une double analyse a été effectuée : « à l'oreille » et à l'aide d'un logiciel informatique. Notre recherche a démontré l'importance de plusieurs facteurs d'influence complémentaires : l'enseignement reçu, l'époque où l'on vit et l'on crée, le tempérament et l'individualité artistique. Au terme de notre recherche, nous avons démontré l'existence de spécificités qui se manifestent au sein de chacune des écoles pianistiques nationales, et également de particularités caractérisant le mode de jeu des différentes générations. / Our research focuses a comparative analysis of the performances of Liszt's Sonata in b minor. We analysed twenty-five recordings by pianists grouped into five piano schools : Hungarian, French, Russian, American and German. We compared the deviations of the performers from the score and the differences between the individual performances, based on a selection of seven parameters that allowed us to characterise each of them. A double analysis was made: "by ear" and with the aid of acomputer. Our research has shown the importance of several complementary factors of influence : education, the period during which the pianists lived and created, the artists' temperaments and their artistic individualities. At the end of our research, we demonstrated the existence of specific features within each of the national piano schools, and also of some features that characterise the performing style of each generation.

Klavírní školství ve Španělsku / Piano Education in Spain

The Master's Thesis Piano Education in Spain focuses on the development of the Spanish piano education from the beginning of the 19th century until present. It describes and characterizes general and music education from the pre-school age till adulthood. In the second part, the thesis analyzes historical piano schools and methods of P. Albéniz, E. Compta, P. Tintorer and R. Montalbán which influenced piano pedagogy the most. It also deals with current Spanish piano schools of C. Pérez and M. Carra and with foreign mainly American piano schools and methods of J. Thompson, J. Bastien and F. Clark. In the final part, the thesis draws attention to the current situation of music schools and conservatories and the reaction of the teachers to this situation. Since there is no publication in the Czech language concerning this topic, the aim of the thesis is to introduce to the Czech professional public the topic of Spanish piano education development, the current situation and to introduce piano books for beginners which are not known in the Czech Republic.

The beginnings of piano playing of children play an important role in laying quality pianistic groundings, which are crucial for their further pianistic development as well as for building their relationship with the instrument and music itself. This thesis is devoted to the study of elementary piano teaching of children aged 5-7 years. The aim of the thesis is to map the current state of piano pedagogy in Czech Republic and to propose optimal methodological procedures and solutions in the initial piano lessons based on modern pedagogical approaches and the needs of contemporary piano pedagogy. In five chapters of the work, this goal will be achieved by examining the historical background of piano schools in Bohemia over the centuries to this day, by setting up theoretical and practical bases for the researched issue and finally by research itself. Within the framework of practical bases, which served as a basis for subsequent research, an optimal methodological approach to teaching in the early stage of piano playing was proposed for children aged 5-7 years, which corresponds to the most modern requirements of the field. Le but de ce travail est d'étudier l'art d'interpréter de plusieurs générations de pianistes dont la formation remonte au XIXe siècle, mais dont l'activité s'est étendue jusqu'à la 1re moitié du XXe siècle. L'essor de l'interprétation qui marqua cette époque a prodigué des artistes qui - à la suite de leurs grands maîtres (Chopin, Liszt, A. Rubinstein) - ont déjà laissé un nombre considérable d'enregistrements permettant de saisir à travers leur jeu une image authentique de l’œuvre romantique. En nous référant à l'idée que l'essor du pianisme à la charnière des XIXe - XXe siècles provient de l'expansion remarquable de l'art d'interpréter au XIXe siècle, nous avançons l'hypothèse selon laquelle c'est précisément dans les positions esthétiques et dans la vision du monde propre à cette époque qu'il faut chercher les sources d'un tel essor. Parmi les caractéristiques importantes de la manière d'interpréter des pianistes de la 2e moitié du XIXe siècle, entrent d'abord en jeu la faculté de penser imagée, la liberté et une manière d'improviser en modifiant les textes des œuvres exécutées. Ces données se combinent d'ailleurs avec d'autres, comme l'intellectualisme. Les analyses de certaines particularités de style, des manières de jouer, typiques du XIXe siècle (comme le rubato, le « pointillisme etc.), nous révèlent ainsi ce que fut la réelle pensée polyphonique du Romantisme. Il ne s'agit pas de la seule écriture polyphonique, mais d'un principe polyphonique au sens plus large, s'exprimant à travers le style d'interpréter qui, à son tour, définit la perception spatio-temporelle spécifique de ces quelques décennies. / The aim of this work is to study the performing art of several generations of pianists who were trained in the 19th Century but who extended their artistic activity throught the 1st half of the 20th Century. The rise of the art of interpretation which marked this period gave the artistes who - following their great masters - have left a considerable number of records where their plaiyng conjures up an image of the romantic composition that may be more authentic, though it is quite different from that of today.Based on the idea that the rise of the pianism at the turn of the 20th Century comes largely from the remarkable expansion of the 19th Century performing arts, we hypothesize that it is precisely in the aesthetic positions and the vision of the world inherent in the Romantic era that we should look for the sources of such a rise. Chief among the important features of the style of interpretation of the pianists of the 2nd half of the 19th Century, was their creative thinking, but also the surprising freedom they enjoyed to improvise and modify compositions. Other features include the intellectualism of their approach to the performed composition. Analyses of certain peculiarities of style, of the ways of playing typical of the 19th Century (such as rubato, the « pointillism » etc.) reveal the real polyphonic thougth of the Romantic era. This is not only the polyphonic writing itself, but a polyphonic principle in a broader sense, manifesting itself through the style of interpretation which, in turn, defines the specific spatio-temporal perception of these several decades.
