Orientador: Sérgio Rangel Fernandes Figueira / Resumo: Objetivo: O objetivo geral deste trabalho é a caracterização do perfil dos produtores de abacaxi no município de Frutal-MG. Os objetivos específicos são: (i) estabelecer o perfil socioeconômico do produtor de abacaxi de Frutal-MG; (ii) identificar e quantificar os aspectos relacionados as características do sistema de produção de abacaxi no município, tais como: área plantada, rendimento da colheita, tecnologia e mão de obra utilizada em cada etapa da produção; (iii) investigar o comportamento dos agricultores em relação à gestão financeira, englobando a receita gerada com a produção e os financiamentos adquiridos e (iv) identificar as etapas que demandam maior e menor investimentos. Metodologia/Procedimentos de Pesquisa: Para o desenvolvimento deste estudo inicialmente foi realizada uma pesquisa de natureza exploratória e vasta coleta e análise de informações relevantes dentro do tema abacaxicultura, cultura do abacaxizeiro e agricultura familiar, com leituras de artigos científicos sem restrição de prazo de publicação, além de buscas em sites específicos como Google Acadêmico (https://scholar.google.com.br/), SCIELO e o P@rthenon da Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias da Universidade Estadual Paulista (FCAV/UNESP) (http://www.parthenon.biblioteca.unesp.br), IBGE e FAO que foram incluídos na revisão. The specific goals are: (i) to establish the socioeconomic profile of Frutal's pineapple producers; (ii) identify and quantify aspects related to the characteristics of the pineapple production system in the municipality, such as: planted area, crop yield, technology and labor used at each stage of production; (iii) investigate the behavior of farmers in relation to financial management, encompassing the revenue generated from the production and the financing acquired and (iv) identify the stages that require the largest and smallest investments. With regard to the production of pineapple, the history of this crop in the county began in the 1940s, by a natural producer of Caicó (RN). Since then, production began to expand in the city. The 1980s was the peak period of production. The city was recognized nationally as the "National Pineapple Capital" because he had an annual output of 149 million harvested. However, in the late 1990s, this production began to decline, due to several factors such as the cost of production, lack of incentives, the insertion of cane sugar in the Minas Triangle, the cultivation of soybeans and corn. And with that, many producers stopped the cultivation of fruit, they were getting more profit planting other crops than with the actual cultivation of pineapple. Even with decreased production, pineapple cultivation in Monte Alegre de Minas caused a (re) productive organization in the city. Thus, this research aims to understand the reproductive strategies of family farmers pineapple farmers, faced with socio-spatial and economic transformations in Monte Alegre de Minas (MG). The methodological procedures that bolstered the research were focused on theoretical review in theses, dissertations, books and articles that address the theme of research, and source data at the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and the completion of fieldwork with observation, photographic records and interviews. Thus, we found that, despite all the difficulties, farmers continue resisting and (re) exist in their properties, facing obstacles that surround them. Family farmers pineapple producers in Monte Alegre de Minas are an example. Even under pressure from insertion of monocultures in the city, persist in cultivating pineapple and continue this tradition. / As atividades agropecuárias sempre foram a base da economia do município de Monte Alegre de Minas. No que se refere à produção do abacaxi, a história desse cultivo no município iniciou-se na década de 1940, por um produtor natural de Caicó (RN). Desde então, a produção começou a se expandir no município. A década de 1980 foi o período auge de produção. O município foi reconhecido, nacionalmente, como a “Capital Nacional do Abacaxi”, pois tinha uma produção anual de 149 milhões de frutos colhidos. Entretanto, no final da década de 1990, esta produção começou a decair, devido a diversos fatores, como o custo de produção, falta de incentivos, a inserção da cana-de-açúcar no Triângulo Mineiro, o cultivo da soja e do milho. E, com isso, muitos produtores interromperam o cultivo do fruto, pois estavam obtendo mais lucro plantando outras lavouras, do que com o próprio cultivo do abacaxi. Mesmo apresentando decréscimo na produção, o cultivo de abacaxi em Monte Alegre de Minas causou uma (re)organização produtiva no município. Desse modo, a presente pesquisa visa compreender as estratégias de reprodução dos agricultores familiares produtores de abacaxi, frente às transformações socioespaciais e econômicas no município de Monte Alegre de Minas (MG). Os procedimentos metodológicos que ampararam a pesquisa foram centrados em revisão teórica, em teses, dissertações, livros e artigos que abordam a temática da pesquisa, além de dados em fonte no Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) e da realização de trabalho de campo com observação assistemática, registro fotográfico e entrevistas. Assim, pudemos constatar que, mesmo diante de todas as dificuldades existentes, os agricultores familiares persistem, resistem e (re)existem em suas propriedades, enfrentando os obstáculos que os cercam. Os agricultores familiares produtores de abacaxi em Monte Alegre de Minas são um exemplo. Mesmo sendo pressionados pela inserção das monoculturas no município, persistem em cultivar abacaxi e dar continuidade a esta tradição.
