The House: to be accompanied and to be aloneFeng, Zhenzhen 19 June 2018 (has links)
It is the house that has spaces above ground and spaces beneath the ground. The part above ground is separated into three volumes. The first space is for the owner to accompany with friends and family members, which is a significant part of one's life. The second space is the owner staying with close friends where they can work and design together. The third space is only for the owner where he can sleep, read and relax. Sometimes, the owner feels depressed, he prefers to run away from sadness like a child. Thus, I design a series of spaces for the owner to get away like a child. He can take a journey to get rid of sorrow by going through the underground spaces. The journey of the owner, created by a series of experiencing spaces underneath, starts from the third space. The owner will travel spaces containing different lights, sounds, and views. The owner can stop by during the journey to experience the spaces. He will gradually forget sadness and sorrow by the pleasure created by various experience. The owner will hear echoes when he sings in the spaces and will notice the sound of his footsteps and will view different scenes from various light tubes. Finally, the owner will reach a destination; it is a tower without a roof. He can experience starry night, rain, sunshine and so forth. He eventually reaches a place near nature, which is still one part of The House. / Master of Architecture

Aesthetics of the holy. Functions of Space in Milton and KlopstockJost-Fritz, Jan Oliver 02 October 2018 (has links)
Scholars have long argued that the rhetorical concept of aemulatio best describes the tie between Milton’s Paradise Lost and Klopstock’s Messias. Against the backdrop of an emerging German national literature, Klopstock’s intention was not to merely imitate but to surpass his English predecessor. This view certainly has some merit, particularly since Klopstock himself alluded to this intention. However, crucial differences in aesthetics are obscured if the Messias is read in this sense. In order to challenge this common notion of the relationship betweenMilton and Klopstock, I analyze concepts of space and divine presence in both epic poems. I show how both Milton and Klopstock presented specific poetic solutions to problems in aesthetics and theology posed by their respective historical ‘situation’ (P. Tillich).

Previous issue date: 2009-11-30 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Cient?fico e Tecnol?gico / This study discusses chronicler Rubem Braga and his chronicles published in O Estado de S?o Paulo newspaper (supplement Caderno 2), from 1988 to 1990. The analysis of the 84 chronicles focuses on the study of poetic spaces, mainly based on Gaston Bachelard s book The Poetics of Space. Narrator s characteristics are also shown in the analyzed chronicles, as he resembles a traditional storyteller, even though participates in a genre that belongs to a modern vehicle: the newspaper. The storyteller-chronicler moves in time and space, reporting his experiences to the readers, and also travels inside of himself, discovering places which were kept in his memory / O presente trabalho trata do cronista Rubem Braga e suas cr?nicas publicadas no jornal O Estado de S?o Paulo (Suplemento Caderno 2), nos anos de 1988 a 1990.

« Moi d’ici, moi de là-bas » : La géographie imaginaire du roman Le Ventre de l’Atlantique de Fatou Diome / « Me here, me there » : The imaginative geography in the novel Le Ventre de l’Atlantique by Fatou DiomeRiomar, Sandra January 2015 (has links)
The object of this study is to explore the « imaginative geography » in the novel Le ventre de l’Atlantique, written by Fatou Diome. The concept of « imaginative geography » describes relations of spatial domination and the construction of the « Other », entirely different from « us » (Saïd, 1978). The two countries in the novel, France and Senegal, are analysed as two irreconcilable spheres, associated with oppositions such as we – the Other, individualism – collectivism, rationality – superstition. Two spatial images are discussed in this study: the island of Niodior in Senegal and the Atlantic Ocean. The isolation of Niodior reinforces the separation into two opposed spheres, while the Atlantic Ocean constitutes an element charged with magical forces, connected to life and death. Referring to the idea of hybridity, the novel also presents alternative spaces and identities, transgressing the colonial structure.

"Kým jsme pro současnou francouzskou poezii?" Hledání identity ve sbírce La Chute des temps Bernarda Noëla / "Who are we for the contemporary French poetry?" The search for identity in the collection La Chute des temps by Bernard NoëlBratská, Johana January 2016 (has links)
(in English) The diploma thesis "Who are we for the contemporary French poetry?" Searching for identity in poetry collection La Chute des temps by Bernard Noël aims to explore the contemporary - in this case primarily French - poetry. The first part is asking about the causes of poetry decline in sense of readership and popularity of such genre and seeks for an answer to the question what contribution does the poetry reading bring for a contemporary reader. Based on analysis of texts by literary critics, theoreticians and poets, the paper comes to conclusions, which are applied in the second part on the analysis of particular text by French poet Bernard Noël - La Chute des temps. The paper analyses the search for an identity "I" of the author and the reader, the musicality in verses as subconscious signature of the author, the relationship between the body of the poet, the reader and the poem itself and, last but not least, the metaphor of skin as the boundary between the inside and the outside. Key words: contemporary French poetry, literality, new lyric, Bernard Noël, identity of a subject, poetic space, musicality, flesh
