As estatísticas relacionadas a esta demanda demonstram que as mulheres vivem mais que os homens. Essa diferença acentua-se com o avançar da idade, na qual fazem parte os "muito idosos" ou "velhos-velhos", terminologias utilizadas por alguns autores. Considerando a vivência e as experiências acumuladas ao longo de anos, embasadas por legislações como a Constituição Federal/1988, Política Nacional do Idoso - PNI, Estatuto do Idoso e no campo da política pública de saúde como o Sistema Único de Saúde, Programa de Saúde da Família - PSF, Pacto pela Saúde, o presente estudo teve como objetivo investigar como as mulheres com idade igual ou superior a 80 anos percebem a intervenção do PSF no município de Piumhi/MG. Este conta com 100% de cobertura do programa, de acordo com a legislação que regulamenta a implantação do programa. O que se questiona neste estudo é: tendo o município uma "estrutura" consolidada do programa, a população de idosas que vivenciaram os diversos momentos de construção da política de saúde, realmente conhece o trabalho desenvolvido pela Equipes de Saúde da Família (ESF)? Optouse pela escolha apenas de mulheres para serem sujeitas da pesquisa e que fossem atendidas pelo programa desde o início da sua implantação. Àquelas que foram selecionadas para participarem da pesquisa, por meio de sorteio aleatório, foram informadas sobre os objetivos e riscos da pesquisa e consentiram por meio do Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido (TCLE). Quanto ao percurso metodológico foram utilizadas a pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, através de livros, periódicos e revistas especializadas; e a pesquisa de campo... (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: The growth of life's expectation and the consequent growth of the number of elderly people is a reality observed all over the world. The statistics related to this demand show that women live more than men. This difference is higher when the age advances, which the "very old" or "old-old" are parts, according some authors terminologies. Considering the living and the experiences accumulated over the years, grounded by legislations as Federal Constitution of 1988, National Elderly Policy, Elderly Statute and on the public policy of health as Unique System of Health, Family's Health Program, Pact for Health, the present study had as an objective investigate how women with 80 or more age see the reflects of the Family's Health Program works at the city of Piumhi/MG. The city covers 100% of the program, according to the legislation that regulate the implantation of the program. The question of this study is: with the program's structure consolidated, does the elderly women's population that lived the many moments of health policy's construction know the work developed by the Family's Health Teams? The researches have chosen only women answered by the program since its beginning to be subjects. Those who were selected to participate of the research, by raffle, were informed about the objectives and risks of it and accepted through the Term of Free and Enlightened Consentient (TFEC). About the methodology, were used the literature and documental searches as books, journals and specialized magazines. Also were used the field research, where the interviewers could expose their reflections and knowledge about the health's policy with emphasis at Family's Health Program. Os objetivos específicos se concretizaram em: estudar a historicidade da política municipal de assistência à pessoa idosa no município de Uberaba, de 1995 a 2012, e o papel que essas pessoas desempenharam no processo de efetivação da política de atendimento da UAI; traçar o perfil socioeconômico dos frequentadores da UAI; compreender o trabalho da equipe multidisciplinar e das pessoas idosas em relação ao envelhecimento ativo, bem como os fatores que os levaram a participar dos diversos projetos que a instituição oferece; analisar os impactos desencadeados no cotidiano dessas pessoas idosas, após sua participação nas atividades da UAI, assim como o papel que a instituição ocupa no cotidiano deles e no cotidiano da equipe multidisciplinar. É uma pesquisa exploratória e qualitativa. Foram utilizados questionários na coleta dos dados e selecionados quinze projetos dentre um grupo de sessenta pessoas idosas, com idade entre 60 e 100 anos, que participam de quatro projetos por semana e que entraram na instituição até o ano de 2010, juntamente com a equipe multidisciplinar.
