Rezidenční spokojenost domácností bytových domů v pražských lokalitách - role občanské vybavenosti / Residential satisfaction of households in tenement houses in localities of Prague - the role of civic amenities

Bursa, Otakar January 2018 (has links)
Residential satisfaction belongs to important elements of human's satisfaction with life. It is created by the unique set of different components to which the accessibility and quality of civic amenities in a neighbourhood may also be included. Nevertheless, the importance of this factor used to be underestimated and the real connexion between residential satisfaction and the presence of civic amenities has not come out so far (Swindell, Kelly 2005). Therefore, the diploma thesis focuses on the qualitative- analytical research of residential satisfaction in two differently served Prague's localities with the aim to deepen the current knowledge of this issue. The results show that the presence of civic amenities in the neighbourhood has a significant effect in creating residential satisfaction which is comparable to the quality of housing and neighbourhood features. However, this relationship is partly influenced by the assigned importance of services' presence that especially varies according to the locality type (housing estate or suburban) and the position of household in a life cycle. Keywords: residential satisfaction, civic amenities, Prague, housing estate, suburb

Rekonstrukce letištní bezpečnosti: produkce bezpečnosti perspektivou Actor-network teorie / Reassembling Airport Security: An Actor-Network Theory Account of Security Production

Komasová, Sarah January 2019 (has links)
Airport security represents a crucial part of civil aviation worldwide. Due to its substantial impact upon millions of passengers daily, it is bound to provoke questions about proportionality and sufficiency. Drawing on the insights from Actor-network Theory (ANT) and a medium- term field research at Václav Havel Airport Prague, which entailed a mix of qualitative-oriented research methods from participant observation to interviews, this thesis examines the nature and production of airport security as a network of chains of translation. These chains turn or translate according to their own logics of veridiction of all incoming actants, both human and non-human, from an insecure status to a secure one. In their translation, they are guided by three respective logics of division, movement and visibility, which have already been identified in previous studies of airport security. Going beyond the existing state of the art, this thesis specifically inquires into the components of chains of translation, particularly the airport security technologies and their interactions with humans, and focuses on instances where either of these logics or the veridiction logics, intersect, thus disclosing their own nature and presence. Furthermore, this thesis identifies spatiality and identity as two complementary...

Sekularizace pražského dělnictva, Smíchov a jeho blízké okolí v druhé polovině 19. století / The Secularization of the Prague Working Class, Smichow and Its Vicinity in the Second Half of the 19th Century.

Černý, Jan Karel January 2021 (has links)
(in English) A thesis deals with the secularization of a Prague, especially Smichow working class in the second half of the 19th century. The working class is usually considered the most secular stratum and the aim of the thesis is to verify the proposition locally and to examine why the process of secularization occurred in the working class so powerfully. The working class is drafted as a social stratum in which the process acts as well as the stratum actively practices it. The process of secularization is then divided into three categories; religion - spirituality - church and the process is conceptualized as "de-catholization" as well as the spiritual transformation. In the process of the transformation, traditional religion (Catholicism), its institutions (church) and religiosity lose their socio-cultural power and are replaced by modern ideologies, state (bureaucratic and rational) structures and implicit spirituality, resp., "un- religious faith". In the process of secularization, there is particularly stressed the role of urbanization, industrialization, socialism, church and its social teaching. In the thesis, there are combined theoretical approaches of the sociology of religion (the sacred canopy) and religious studies (dimensions of the Sacred) and are applied to the secondary and...

Občanská participace v MČ Praha 10 - pohledem klíčových aktérů / Civic participation in Prague 10 city district - perspectives of key stakeholders

Ferjenčíková, Kristýna January 2016 (has links)
Civil participation is on the rise. In the district of Prague 10, it is also gaining more and more importance - at least in the field of public spaces and their restoration or transformation. In this part of Prague, thanks to civil participation, many different groups of key stakeholders such as civil servants, active citizens, and politicians meet. The main part of the thesis, thus is comprised by qualitative research based on in-depth interviews with these stakeholders. The author tries to find answers to her questions as regards the perception of civil participation by the stakeholdres themselves, as regards the role individual groups are attributed and what is the role of (lack of) trust in the process of participation. As the research shows, in this particular district, there is a wide array of obstacles the process faces. At the same time, it bears a great potential and promises of a much brighter future. In the final part of the thesis, suggestions as to further research are presented and the results are put within the context of the current research and academic writing. Javůrková, Magdaléna January 2017 (has links)
This thesis Women's Integration into the Physical Education Organization Sokol discusses the integration of women into organization Sokol, which was in the Czech lands first organization in which there was regular exercise. The aim is to give a clear historical perspective on the integration of women into Sokol. The thesis builds on the symbolic interpretation of the role of men and women based on the book by Pierre Bourdieu Domination of men in which Bourdieu argues that the inclusion of women in society is the result of a symbolic perception of the whole reality in which women have lower status than men. Further disclosed herein is the development of physical activities, games and ritualistic ceremonies. The development of the physical activity is related to the overall perception of physicality and culture itself, through which people became more interested in their body. The development of the physical education and formation Sokol had a great influence on the formation of the first women's gymnastic club of ladies and girls of Prague, which allowed women to enter the Sokol a chance to do the same physical activities as men. The illustration of subsequent history of Sokol is described on the example of the development in the locality Vinoř, based on interviews with one eyewitness once in a...

Sakrální stavby v urbanismu pražských měst 19. a 20. století / Sacral buildings in urbanism of the municipalities of Prague in 19th and 20th century

Háčková, Tereza January 2017 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with sacral architecture in the urban structure of the Prague districts of the 19th and 20th centuries. The aim is to answer the question whether these two centuries prolong the tradition in which the urban structure responded to sanctuaries, which were often the basic starting point for new urban foundations or, on the contrary, only respond to the given urban situation. The main ambition of the work is to create a set of material from Prague urbanism to illustrate the development of relationship between sacral structures and urban space during the 19th and 20th centuries. Based on available sources, documents, catalogs, and maps, the work tries to compare new church builders with a catholic tradition without excluding the issue of minor christian churches and synagogues from the scope of the work. Politika metalové komunity v Praze / The Politics of Prague's Metal Scene

Kurki, Alex January 2019 (has links)
This thesis examines the potential links between political behavior and the Prague metal scene. Many authors have suggested theories on links between music and politics, but there are few empirical studies on the topic. This thesis focuses on one genre of music in one space and cultural context: heavy metal music in Prague, Czech Republic. The literature on metal subcultures claims that they exist to perpetuate rebellion and transgression, and that members of these subcultures reject "politics"; however, metal is seen as political in some cases. Because of this, it is hypothesized that metal subculture members will have negative opinions on the political system and political participation, and will express support for anti-system parties or ideas. These hypotheses are tested through a qualitative thematic analysis of interviews and survey responses from 22 members of Prague's metal subculture. It is found that members of the subculture vote at a similar rate to the rest of the Czech population, and that the majority of participants identify as center-right or right-wing. The participants expressed ideas that were critical of the political system and of society discourses relating to politics. Furthermore, respondents viewed metal in Prague as apolitical, but felt metal could be political in some...
