Rezidenční mobilita obyvatel Prahy se zaměřením na etnické menšiny / Residential Mobility of Prague Population with Focus on Ethnic Minorities

Přidalová, Ivana January 2013 (has links)
Since 1989, Czechia has undergone many changes. Increasingly important part of Czech society is represented by foreign inhabitants, who - most often - move to Prague. The capital city is target of economic migrants but also of those foreigners who seek a new home. The aim of the diploma thesis is to get to know spatial patterns of migration of population in Prague between 1992 and 2011 and to explain geographical causes of migration. The first part of the thesis discusses theoretical approaches dealing with mobility, especially with migration and residential mobility. Next chapter introduces development of migration of population in Prague and summarizes basic findings about the most numerous groups of foreigners living in the capital city. Based on data from registers of migration, general trends in population migration are identified, then, migration activity of Prague inhabitants by citizenship is analyzed. Case study of urbanistic district Nové Butovice-západ in the final part of the thesis verifies, by triangulation of research methods, the reliability of statistical data on numbers and movement of foreigners in Prague and analyzes the influence of immigration of Russian citizens on changing social environment of the studied locality.

Historický záznam emisí Hg na území města Prahy s využitím dendrochronologie / Historical records of Hg emissions in the Prague city using dendrochronology

Miller, Zbyněk January 2013 (has links)
The primary aim of this work was to estimate whether tree rings of Norway spruce (Picea abies L.) can be used as a geochemical archive for the purposes of historical and recent pollution of atmosphere by Mercury (Hg). The research was realized during the year of 2013 (January to June) in the the capital city of Prague. Šumava National Park was selected as a reference site. In total, forty eight cores of Norway spruce were sourced from five locations for the Hg analysis. Three cores were obtained from each tree from the following cardinal points: the north, east and south-west. The investigated sites have been significantly different in amount of Hg measured (ANOVA, p < 0,001). There was found also negative correlation among the amount of Hg and phosphorus (P) (r = - 0,66; p < 0,002). The highest concentrations of Hg were measured at "Krematorium Motol" site (up to 14,2 ng.g-1 ). On the contrary, the lowest concentration of Hg was recorded both near the former incineration plant at the site "Pod Spalovnou - Vysočany" (1,1 ng.g-1 ) and at the reference site in the Šumava (1,2 ng.g-1 ). Increased values of Hg in the investigated tree rings in the 50's up to the late 70's of the 20th century is probably caused by the former industrial era connected with coal-fired power plants and ore processing. Přírodní a společenské podmínky rozvoje pražského vinařství na příkladu Dejvic / Natural and social conditions of the Prague viticulture development illustrated by the example of Dejvice

Švábík, Jakub January 2013 (has links)
I devoted my thesis to the development of the Prague viticulture since 1848 and I show that natural and social conditions largely influenced it. At the very beginning I deal with how grape cultivation spread and how winemaking developed in the Czech lands. As for the natural conditions, the most significant part focuses on climate and the climate change that influenced not only viticulture. As for the social conditions, it was the law that had the biggest impact on winemaking. I deal with the Czech viticulture right sources and analyse the most important legal documents which determined the viticulture development. One of the most noteworthy periods of the viticulture near Prague was the reign of Charles IV. I inform the reader about his plan to plant grapes extensively and not only do I examine its impact, but I also comment on his intentions and the reasons that made him do so. The example of Dejvice illustrates how winemaking influenced the nature of Prague surroundings in many ways. To support this, I give examples of the development of some vineyards in Dejvice that show the particular impact of the mentioned historical events. I also try to find the answer why and how the viticulture in Dejvice vanished.

Dolejší, Barbora January 2016 (has links)
The main goal of this thesis is to capture the diversity of perceptions of housing estates from the perspective of their population and from the outsiders' perspective. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part deals with the image of housing estates and their positives and negatives. In the theoretical framework, also the studies of image of housing estates from selected foreign countries are presented. The second empirical part is based on the analysis of semi-structured interviews conducted with 50 residents of 10 housing estates in Prague and the results of focus group, which was conducted with 10 geography students who were generally familiar with the reputations of studied housing estates. These two research phases aimed to reveal, if the housing estates are perceived negatively as a place to live. And if so, whether they are perceived negatively by their inhabitants, or by people who live in other parts of Prague. Next taks of the analysis was to find out what is the main problem of Prague's housing estates and, on the contrary, what are their positives. In the conclusion, the thesis sums up, that despite the prevailing negative image of the housing estates, in the eyes of their inhabitants, the are perceived rather agreeable and many positive elements can be found.
