A utilização da entrevista semi-estruturada bem como de documentos fornecidos pelo Congresso Nacional, permitiu a coleta de depoimentos e de dados que forneceram uma diversidade de informações suficientemente abrangentes para analisar o perfil sócio-político das deputadas, a estruturação das campanhas enquanto candidatas, a questão da representação de grupo de interesse, a situação dessas mulheres na condição de deputadas constituintes e a atuação delilS no Congresso Nacional Con~ituinte. Os dados evidenciam as diferenças que marcaram essas mulheres quanto a idade, estado civil, profissão, nível de instrução, ideologia partidária, experiência política, raça, região, vinculação política com parentes ou marido. A representação da mulher na política institucional ficou caracterizada pela opressão, exclusão, discriminação e preconceito de raça e de gênero. Contudo, essas mulheres se uniram suprapartidariamente, formando a "bancada feminina" no Congresso Nacional, que contou com o apoio de diversas organizações de mulheres, em particular do Conselho Nacional dos Direitos da Mulher (CNDM). Os resultados evidenciam o empenho dessas mulheres no alcance de mudanças significativas, em particular, nas questões relativas aos direitos e garantias da mulher / Abstract: The theme proposed in this work, Women's Partipation in the Constituent National Congress, has led us to search for sufficient analysis references in order to understand the role women representatives play in the parliamentary political contexto The use of a semistructured interview and documents furnished by the National Congress allowed to gather statements and data providing a sufficiently comprehensive range of diverse information to analyse the social - political profile of these women representatives, the structure of their political campaigns as candidates, the issue of interest group representation, their condition as representative members and the role they play in the Constituent National Congresso The data made evidentthe differences among these women with regard to age, civil status, profession, levei of instruction, polítical idiology, polítical experience, race, region, polítical ties with relatives or husband. Representation of women in institucional politics has been characterized by oppression, expression, exclusion, racial and sex discrimination and prejudice.
