Nutnost změny profesní přípravy učitelů / Necessity of change in professional preparation of teachers

Mleziva, Jan-Michal January 2014 (has links)
1 ABSTRACT: The present thesis argues for the necessity of a fundamental change in the professional preparation of primary and secondary school teachers; additionally, it discusses the way the education of future teachers should take. From the perspective of educational management, it proposes concrete measures that should be taken in order to implement the change. The author points out the seriousness of the issue in a broader context on the basis of an analysis of the curricula of faculties of education. The main reason for the change in the professional preparation of teachers is seen in the insufficient reflection of the current needs of the contemporary society, both in the content and form of teacher education. The thesis is divided into four chapters: Contemporary context as a major imperative, The present state of the professional preparation of teachers, The objectives of the professional preparation of teachers in the contemporary context, and The main steps towards the realization of the new goals.

The Effects of Pre-Service Training on Collaboration Between Classroom Teachers and Media Specialists

Dayna N. Durbin 2007 July 1900 (has links)
An electronic survey of 40 elementary teachers of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools district in the Triangle area of North Carolina was conducted to determine the effects of pre-service training on how often teachers collaborate with school library media specialists. Teachers were asked if they had received training in the media center and collaborating with media specialists, and were also asked to report the number of times they had collaborated in the previous semester. Although a statistical relationship between the amount of pre-service training in collaboration and frequency of collaboration was not established, the survey indicated that teachers who had received information about the media center in general were more likely to collaborate with media specialists. In order to increase instructional partnerships, it is recommended that schools of education increase information about the media center in their curriculum to better prepare pre-service teachers to collaborate with media specialists.

It is a qualitative nature research which narrative focuses on some aspects of the formation of these areas considering conflicts, opposition, characteristics and necessities of the current educational context. I try to deal with visions and assume positions on what the Sciences teachers must learn through the configuration of the trends in preparation and the teaching and learning practices taken into consideration in the 20th century as well as the projections of what would be desirable for the 21st century. In this aspect I identify five analytical categories which were highlighted in my interviews. Concerning the first research category, tendencies point that the scientific contents are fundamental but not sufficient through the educational process and it is necessary to add its formative value. The second category deals with the involvement of the student in the process of learning and teaching Sciences. Dealing with something that no longer can be supported in this century, the third category considers the dissociation between Science, Technology and society, attached to fragmented scenery of Science. The fourth category points to what is new in the preparation of Sciences teachers and the fifth category highlights the processes required of Sciences teachers for the 21st century. The analysis of these trends in the light of the reports and interviews of these objects of research are responsible for the integration between teaching and learning, sharing the pedagogical, philosophical, sociological, and scientific knowledge. Working with current literature regarding the preparation of educators in the area of Sciences, I try to elaborate a few questionings that permeate the investigation, and add to an epistemological change in education: Which views should be prioritized when the issue is the preparation of Sciences teachers? What is basic for these teachers? Academic papers regarding teachers professional knowledge have been a solid contribution to the establishment of a very critic analysis of the work of the professoriate. Quais as necessidades formativas desses professores? Necessidades formativas no século XXI.
