Resumo: O presente estudo teve por objetivo avaliar a evolução das prevalências de distúrbios nutricionais entre pré-escolares da rede municipal de ensino de Araraquara-SP, nos anos de 2001 e 2004, e distribuir tais prevalências pelo espaço geográfico da cidade (espacialização). Com relação à estrutura deste trabalho, o mesmo foi configurado em forma de artigos, havendo um artigo referente aos dados de sobrepeso e obesidade e outro para os dados de desnutrição. Para o cálculo do estado nutricional, foram utilizados dados antropométricos de 7.856 pré-escolares em 2001 e 2004. Para detecção do excesso de peso, foi utilizada a metodologia proposta por Cole et al., 2000. Para desnutrição, foi utilizada metodologia recomendada pela Organização Mundial da Saúde, 2000, onde foram calculados os três indicadores: altura para idade (AI), peso para idade (PI) e peso para altura (PA). Dados do censo IBGE 2000 sobre instrução e renda foram correlacionados com os dados nutricionais. Foi realizada a espacialização dos dados, onde as regiões com maiores índices de obesidade e desnutrição foram consideradas áreas de risco. As prevalências médias de obesidade e sobrepeso foram respectivamente 6,3% e 12,4% em 2001; e 7,4% e 12,6%, em 2004. O mapa de 2001 mostrou que a distribuição das prevalências mais elevadas de sobrepeso e obesidade foi distribuída ao longo do município. (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: The present study looked for to evaluate the evolution of the nutritional disturbances' prevalences among preschoolars of the municipal net of teaching of Araraquara-SP, in the years of 2001 and 2004, and to distribute such prevalences for the geographical space of the city (mapping). Regarding the structure of this work, the same was configured in form of goods, having an article regarding the overweight data and obesity and other for the malnutrition data. For the calculation of the nutritional state, data anthropometric of 7.856 preschool were used in 2001 and 2004. For excess weight, the methodology used was Cole et al., 2000. For malnutrition, it was used methodology recommended by the World Organization of the Health, 2000, where the three indicators were calculated: height for age (HA), weigh for age (WA) and weigh for height (WH). Data of the census IBGE 2000 on instruction and income was correlated with the nutritional data. The mapping of the data was accomplished, where the areas with larger malnutrition and obesity indexes were considered risk areas. The medium prevalences of obesity and overweight were, respectively 6.3% and 12.4% in 2001; and 7.4% and 12.6%, in 2004. The map of 2001 showed that the distribution of the highest prevalences of overweight and obesity was distributed along the city.
