It is sought to bring Portugal, the homeland of the parents and grandparents, into the context, economically, politically and socially, as of the moment of her emigration to Brazil, and particularly to the city of São Paulo. Next, the whole trajectory lived in this city is traced. After considering the birth of five daughters of different families, a survey is made on the movement described by them as the history of their lives, since their birth up to the present days. Such approach became possible by means of bibliographic survey and interviews, whose routine included topics related to the parents antecedence, the housing, the school, the religiosity, the wedding, the extra-home work, the leisure, the relations and the social mobility. However, it was observed that such interviews were characterized by the spontaneity of the interviewed women. Thus, the verbal source was used as support, as well as the historiography as background. It is then worked with the memories and recollections of these ladies, investigating her lines described, and seeking, by means of dialogue, the social substance of memory, both individual and collective. It is concluded that many inquiries were not met, remaining for another work; however, it is believed that this present dissertation contributes to the studies on the Portuguese immigration and the Brazilian generations, the tradition and culture, as well as that the feminine figures did not remain in silence or excluded, since they told the story of their lives, making it possible to bring meaning to facts that initially could seem insignificant, but which have an important meaning to the historian, who is responsible for abstracting from them, revealing a life scenario that historiography could not allow to pass without registration / Neste estudo ressalta-se a importância da presença feminina e a sua condição ao longo das gerações, desde as raízes portuguesas até as filhas brasileiras. Busca-se contextualizar econômica, política e socialmente Portugal, a terra natal dos pais e avós, a partir do momento da sua emigração para o Brasil, particularmente para a cidade de São Paulo. Em seguida, percorre-se toda a trajetória vivida nesta cidade. Após a abordagem acerca do nascimento de cinco filhas de famílias distintas, realiza-se uma pesquisa no movimento descrito por elas como a história de suas vidas, desde o seu nascimento até a atualidade. Tais abordagens tornaram-se possíveis por meio de consulta bibliográfica e entrevistas, cujo roteiro incluía tópicos direcionados à procedência dos pais, à moradia, à escola, à religiosidade, às núpcias, ao trabalho extradoméstico, ao lazer, às relações e à mobilidade social. No entanto, observou-se que tais entrevistas foram caracterizadas pela espontaneidade das entrevistadas. Assim, utilizou-se a fonte oral como suporte, do mesmo jeito que a historiografia como pano de fundo. Trabalha-se, então, com a memória e as lembranças dessas senhoras, investigando-se suas trajetórias descritas e buscando-se, por intermédio do diálogo, a substância social da memória tanto individual quanto coletiva. Conclui-se que muitas indagações não foram atendidas, ficando para um próximo trabalho; porém, acredita-se que a presente dissertação contribui para os estudos sobre a imigração portuguesa e as gerações brasileiras, a tradição e a cultura, bem como que as figuras femininas não ficaram silenciadas ou excluídas, já que contaram a história de suas vidas, possibilitando dar significado aos fatos que inicialmente poderiam parecer insignificantes, mas que possuem uma importante significação para o historiador, a quem cabe abstrair sobre eles, revelando um cenário de vida que a historiografia não poderia deixar de registrar
