The purpose of this study is to compare the student revolts in Paris with the social upheavals of Prague, both of which occurred in 1968. The revolts in Paris were student movements that extrapolated the campus environment and involved the entire society. It can be inserted in the series of revolt movements that happened in the capitalist side, around the world, in the 60s. On the other hand, the Prague Spring movements’ where born within the society, and can be inserted in a context of freedom aspiration that where taking place in all of the Moscou’s satellites. To design the comparison between these uprisings, the antagonistic blocs, Capitalism and Socialism, where they are inserted, will be contextualized. In order to compare them in a satisfactory manner, it is essential to analyze the blocks between the years 1947-1968, a period known as peaceful coexistence. Regarding the micro aspects, the facts of the riots will be examined so that we can better understand the similarities and differences between them, and how they relate to the ideological dichotomy of the Cold War. Still, in order to better elucidate the discussion, a conceptual review of terms such as "freedom," "ideology", "Cold War" and "revolution" will take place.
