Joaquín María López sobrevenido de una familia de la aristocracia villenense pasó a representar el ala más representativa del liberalismo más avanzado y revolucionario. Durante su vida pasó por los cargos más representativos del Reino de España, siendo Presidente del Gobierno de España en 1843. Como poeta y escritor pertenece al Romanticismo. En el Parlamento español estuvo su gran pasión, siendo denominado “el parlero de las Cortes”.
