Procesní analýza konceptu ECDL / Process analysis of the ECDL concept

Urbanová, Hana January 2011 (has links)
The thesis focuses on the process analysis of the ECDL concept, the so-called driver's license for a computer. The theoretical section provides the definition of the terms "process" and "process analysis", and describes the standards for process modelling and the methods for evaluating the effectiveness of processes. The theoretical section concludes with a description and comparison of the four options for testing computer skills in the Czech Republic - Microsoft Office Specialist, Atom, Prometric, ECDL. The practical section describes and graphically demonstrates the selected processes (Registration, Testing, Evaluation) and evaluates the effectiveness and financial demands of the ECDL concept processes. In its conclusion the practical section evaluates the feasibility of implementation of the proposed changes.

Developing an optimization algorithm within an e-referral program for clinical specialist selection, based on an extensive e-referral program analysis

Carrick, Curtis 08 July 2013 (has links)
When referring physicians decide to refer their patients to specialist care, they rarely, if ever, make a referral decision with the benefit of having access to all of the desirable information. It is therefore highly unlikely that the referring physician will make the optimal choice of specialist for that particular referral. A specialist selection optimization algorithm was developed to guarantee that the “right specialist” for each patient’s referral was chosen. The specialist selection optimization algorithm was developed based on feedback from over 120 users of the e-referral program. The developed algorithm was simulated, tested, and validated in MATLAB. Results from the MATLAB simulation demonstrate that the algorithm functioned as it was designed to. The developed algorithm provides referring physicians with an unprecedented level of support for their decision of which specialist to refer their patient to.

A Multivariate Process Analysis on a Paper Production Process

Löfroth, Jaime, Wiklund, Samuel January 2018 (has links)
A big challenge in managing large scale industry processes, like the ones in the paper and pulp industry, is to reduce the amount of downtime and reduce sources of product quality variability to a minimum, while staying cost effective. To accomplish this the key is to understand the complex nature of the processes variables, and to quantify the causal relationships between them and the product quality together with the amount of output. Paper and pulp industry processes consist mainly of chemical processes and the relatively low cost of sensors today enables collection of huge amounts of data, both variables and observations on frequent time intervals. These masses of data usually come with the intrinsic problem of multicollinearity which requires efficient multivari- ate statistical tools for the extraction of useful insights among the noise. One goal in this multivariate situation is to breakthrough the noise and find a relatively small subset of variables that are important, that is, variable selection. The purpose with this master thesis is to help SCA Obbola, a large paper manu- facturer that have had a variable production output, to come up with conclusions that can help them ensure a long term high production quantity and quality. We apply different variable selection approaches that have proven successful in the literature. The results that we get are of mixed success, but we manage to find both variables that SCA Obbola knows affect specific response variables, but also variables that they find interesting for further investigation.

Procesní analýza studentské organizace AIESEC Praha / Process analysis of student organisation AIESEC Praha

Krotký, Vojtěch January 2014 (has links)
This thesis is focused on solving specific problems in NGO organization AIESEC Praha, caused by big fluctuation, by process analysis and process management implementation. The aim of this paper is provide theoretical introduction to process management and its associated areas. In the beginning of practical part organization is introduced, also with its culture and legal environment that affects its main processes. Following strategic analysis is base for identification of single processes in the organization. Process analysis itself takes major part of thesis and involves described several driving processes through the organization. At the end the knowledge database Tiki is introduced with final conclusions and evaluation.

A Longitudinal Investigation of the Interactional Process Mechanisms of Leadership Emergence in Dyads

McCusker, Maureen E. 11 July 2018 (has links)
The purpose of the following study was to advance the science of leadership emergence by taking a process-oriented approach to understand the dyadic micro-level interacts that underlie the emergence of leader-follower relationship. While most leadership emergence research focuses mainly on attributes, behaviors, or perceptions of individuals and neglects the multi-level, temporal and contextual of the emergence leaders, this study focuses on dyads' attributes, behaviors and perceptions and considers the teams, over time, and in situ. Individuals worked together in teams over the course of four weeks to accomplish a task, and their verbal interactions were recorded and coded. Attributes of dyads and dyadic perceptions of leader-follower relationship emergence were collected. Results showed dyads that were more similar in leadership self-efficacy were more likely to engage in symmetrical types of interactions. Furthermore, the more dyads engaged in such symmetrical exchanges, the more likely they were to both see each other as leaders, than to both not see each as leaders. Contrary to expectations, no significant results were found for the effect of dyadic dissimilarity on dyadic interactions, or for the effect of complementary interactions of leader-follower relationship emergence. Implications of these findings are discussed. / Ph. D.
