O objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar o perfil cognitivo e a atenção visual em adolescentes com diagnóstico de TDAH. Participaram 27 adolescentes com idades entre 12 anos e 16 anos e 11 meses, distribuídos em cinco faixas etárias. Os pais dos participantes responderam a uma entrevista semiestruturada e os adolescentes foram submetidos à avaliação cognitiva, por meio da Escala de Inteligência Wechsler para Crianças – 4ª edição (WISC-IV), e à avaliação da atenção visual, por meio de dois experimentos psicofísicos. Os resultados demonstraram um predomínio de adolescentes pertencentes à classe A e que a maioria dos pais possuía nível superior. A prevalência do TDAH na amostra foi de 1:0,7 (menino: menina). Os participantes apresentaram quociente intelectual dentro da faixa normativa e tiveram menor desempenho nos índices de memória operacional, de velocidade de processamento e de proficiência na WISC-IV. Apenas as faixas etárias de 13 e 16 anos alocaram a atenção de forma explícita e nenhuma dividiu a atenção. Conclui-se que adolescentes diagnosticados com TDAH apresentaram alterações nas funções executivas e nos mecanismos atencionais visuais. / The Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most prevailing diagnoses in adolescence being characterized by the symptomatological triad of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity. The objective of this research was to evaluate the cognitive profile and visual attentional mechanisms in adolescents with ADHD medical diagnosis. Twenty seven adolescents aged 12 to 16 years old and 11 months took part in the research and they were placed in five age groups. Their parents answered a semi-structured interview and the adolescents were subjected to a Cognitive Evaluation through the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children - 4th Edition (WISC-IV) and two psychophysical experiments. The results have shown a predominance of adolescents belonging to the upper class and that parents had college degrees. The prevalence of ADHD in the sample was 1:0,7 (boy: girl). Groups aged 13 and 16 allocated the explicit attention and no group managed to divide the attention. Participants presented intellectual quotient within the normative range and had lower performance in working memory, processing speed and proficiency in the WISC - IV indices. Only the groups aged 13 and 15 allocated explicit attention and no group divided the attention. It is concluded that adolescents diagnosed with ADHD presented changes in the executive functions and in the visual attention mechanisms.
